Dimmer, 230 V~ 50 Hz, for 40-500 W incandescent lamps, 40-500 VA ferromag-
netic transformers and
40-300 VA inductive response electronic transform-
ers, control and regulation with built-in touch sensor or from several positions
with NO buttons, MASTER function, MOSFET + TRIAC technology, visible in
darkness, grey.
CHARACTERISTICS.
• Supply voltage: 230 V~ 50 Hz.
• Turning on, dimming and turning off is with the touch button, remote control buttons
20123 or NC non-luminous buttons.
• Lighting level is saved when turned off (unless there is a blackout).
• Soft start: ensures gradual lighting from zero to maximum or preset lighting levels.
This way the life of a lamp is increased by reducing stress on the filament and pre-
vents light flash.
• Soft end: ensures a gradual passage from light to dark.
• Protection against short-circuit when turning on together with flashing blowout
detector.
• Overheating protection with flashing blowout detector.
• MASTER-SLAVE function: paying attention not to exceed maximum power control-
lable by each dimmer. A MASTER device can have up to 4 SLAVE 20161 devices
for a maximum total load of 2500 W (VA) corresponding to 500 W/VA max con-
nected to each of the 5 devices.
• Operating temperature: -5 °C - +35 °C.
CONNECTIONS.
The connection should be made together with 20416 fuse carrier with a quick-acting
fuse with high breaking capacity type F2.5AH 250 V~ (07050.HF.2.5):
• control and dimming with touch button or from several positions using 20123
remote control buttons or NO buttons in parallel (see figure 2). Do not use NO but-
tons with built-in indicator unit;
• control and adjustment with touch button + control and adjustment of further loads
using SLAVE dimmer in addition to 20161 (max 4) (figure 3).
Note.
Loads controlled by each device are not parallel in the MASTER-SLAVE function.
LOADS CONTROLLED.
• Incandescent and halogen lamps:
• Ferromagnetic transformers for low-voltage halogen lamps
V~ 50 Hz.
• Dedicated electronic transformers 01860.60 max 4, or 01860.105 max 3.

CONSTRUCTOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
• Inductive response electronic transformers
max up to 3 transformers, 240 VA max for 4 transformers; do not connect more
than 4 transformers).
• Not suitable for controlling motors (eg. fans, ventilators).
• For installations with 2 dimmers in the same box the loads controllable by each
dimmer should be reduced so that their total does not exceed the values indicated
above.
OPERATION.
• The device is switched on and off by lightly placing a finger on the front and then
taking it off.
• It is regulated by keeping your finger on the front of the device; to reverse the direc-
tion of adjustment, take your finger off and then place it back on again immediately.
When maximum or minimum load is reached, dimming stops and can be inverted
by taking your finger off and placing it back on again.
• If the indicator unit does not turn on check the fuse and if necessary replace it with
the same type.
• If the indicator unit flashes when turned on check it and replace the load of neces-
sary (short-circuit load).
• If the indicator unit flashes after turning on, installation has not been carried out cor-
rectly and the overheating protection has been activated. Have the system checked
by an expert.
WARNINGS.
• The rated power level should never be exceeded.
• Do not connect several dimmers in series between each other.
• Do not use buttons with built-in LED.
• The dimmer does not have a mechanical circuit breaker in the main circuit and so
is not galvanically separated.
• The circuit load should be considered always under voltage.
INSTALLATION RULES.
Installation should be carried out by qualified personnel in compliance with the current
regulations regarding the installation of electrical equipment in the country where the
products are installed.
STANDARD COMPLIANCE.
LV directive. EMC directive. EN 60669-2-1 standard.
REACH (EU) Regulation no. 1907/2006 – Art.33. The product may contain traces
of lead.
WEEE - Information for users
If the crossed-out bin symbol appears on the equipment or packaging, this means the product must not be
included with other general waste at the end of its working life. The user must take the worn product to a sorted
waste center, or return it to the retailer when purchasing a new one. Products for disposal can be consigned
free of charge (without any new purchase obligation) to retailers with a sales area of at least 400 m
asure less than 25 cm. An efficient sorted waste collection for the environmentally friendly disposal of the used
device, or its subsequent recycling, helps avoid the potential negative effects on the environment and people's
health, and encourages the re-use and/or recycling of the construction materials.
