• User Maintenance
Cleaning
• Only clean when Generator has fully cooled down.
• Use a mild soapy solution and a stiff brush.
• Rinse with clean water
• Dry as thoroughly as possible – parts of this product will corrode if
left wet.
• Only carry out maintenance when the Generator has fully cooled down.
• Maintenance should be adjusted according to use and environment.
Generally, the more use and harsh the environment, the more frequent
the maintenance.
Cleaning the Air filter element
• Remove the two screws at the top and bottom of the Air Filter Cover
(11) and gently pull the cover off.
• Remove Air Filter (11) noting which way around it faces.
• Wash the Air Filter in a suitable fluid (available from most garden
machinery retailers).
• Replace Air Filter by reversing this procedure.

Replacing and adjusting the spark plug
• Pull the ignition lead off the Spark Plug (16) Fig. C
• Unscrew the Spark Plug (16) using the socket supplied.
• Adjust the gap (see specification) using a feeler gauge. Clean using
a wire brush OR replace using a recommended Spark Plug (see
specification).
• Replace Spark Plug and tighten firmly with the socket and bar.
• NOTE: be careful not to cross or over tighten the threads.
• Refit ignition lead.
Changing the engine oil
• Start and run the engine for around 2 minutes to warm the oil, then
switch off.
• Place the Generator above a large oil draining bowl (Silverline tools
recommend product 675089) Make sure the Drain Plug (26) is above
the centre of the bowl.
• Using a 10mm socket and long extension, undo (anticlockwise) the
Drain Plug (26)
