Start-up
Attention! Never operate the unit without water or without a pump filter!
This is how to connect the power supply:
Switching on: Connect power plug to the socket. The unit switches on immediately when the power connection is
established.
Switching off: Disconnect the power plug.
How to operate the unit:
Ensure that the unit is suspended down to a water depth of at least 60 cm, and that the hinged filter is located approx.
10 – 15 cm above the bottom of the pond. It might be necessary to shorten the hose. Stabilise the unit on the bottom of
the pond with a stone and a piece of cord. The cord must be sufficiently long to prevent the float switch (A 8) from
being pulled under water. Ensure that the hinged filter (A 4) including the pump (A 1) are always beneath the ice (max.
1 m below the water surface). Fasten the free end of the cord at the lug provided on the hinged filter (B) or place a
stone on the bottom of the pond (C) in a connection cable loop. Ensure that the hose is always straight to guarantee
unimpaired delivery of the pump. Route the connection cable such that it is protected from damage and snow and ice.
During the winter months, the unit can be used to keep the surface free of ice and prevent the pond from freezing up.
Generally valid statements to this effect cannot be made. The owner of the pond is required to check the condition of
his/her pond on a daily basis.
Maintenance and cleaning
Attention! Dangerous electrical voltage.
Possible consequences: Death or severe injury.
Protective measures:
− Prior to reaching into the water, disconnect the power supply to all units used in the water.
− Disconnect the power plug prior to carrying out work on the unit.
Cleaning the unit
Take the pump (A 1) out of the water. Undo the union nut (A 5) by turning counter-clockwise. Open the hinged filter (A
4) and remove the pump (A 1). Pull off the hose (A 6). Carefully pull off the pump housing (A 2). Pull out the rotor (A 3).
Clean the rotor, pump housing, hinged filter, hose and the clamping point towards the sword with clear water and a soft
brush. After cleaning, fit the unit in the reverse order.
Storage during the summer
Remove the unit from the water and clean thoroughly. Check the unit for damage and store in a container filled with
water. Do not immerse the plug!
Repair
A damaged connection cable cannot be repaired. In this case, please dispose of the pump. For your own safety,
consult a qualified electrician or your specialist dealer if you have questions or encounter problems!
Disposal
Do not dispose of this unit with domestic waste! For disposal purposes, please use the return system provided.
Disable the unit beforehand by cutting off the cables.
