Ball Joint Removal and Installation:
This ball joint adapter set when used in conjunction with the 940579 ball joint press will remove and install the lower
ball joints without having to replace the entire spindle assembly.
Removal:
1. Remove spindle assembly from suspension as per the repair manual instructions.
2. Clean off dirt and grease to allow a clear picture of the operation.
3. Using the 940579 ball joint press along with the adapter, position the press and adapter in-line so the ball joint can
be pressed out without obstruction.
4. Do not use an impact wrench on the pressure screw.
Installation:
1. Apply a lubricant to both surfaces of the ball joint and housing so as to insure an even press operation.
2. Using the 940579 ball joint press set along with adapters, position the ball joint in line so it will press into the
housing straight and unobstructed.
3. Do not use an impact wrench on the pressure screw.
4. Reassemble spindle assembly as per the repair manual.
