WARNING
– To reduce the risk of serious injury:
• Provide a clear path for operation of the legrest. Place tables at a distance to allow
the legrest to fully extend without rubbing or interference.
• Do not move the units while connected together. The purpose of the bracket system is to
connect the units and prevent them from being separated while on the floor. The bracket
system does not provide adequate structural support for the movement of connected units.
6. If using the 9-volt battery backup feature, proceed to the Battery Backup Assembly Instructions
on page 12, then continue with assembly Step 7 below.
7. Each reclining seat has its own motor. Styles with two reclining seats (and two motors) are joined
to a single power supply using a y-cable. Locate the motor connector behind each reclining seat (F

Remove power supply, y-cable (sofa and loveseat styles only) and 120 volt power cord from package

and unwind cords.
Connect the 120 volt power cord to the power supply. Align the 120 volt power cord connector to the

power supply and push together until fully seated (F
Connect the power supply to the furniture.

- For sectional and chair styles with single reclining seat, connect the motor connector directly
to the power supply. Align the 2-pin motor connector (male connector) to the power supply
and push together until fully seated (F
- For sofa and loveseat styles with two reclining seats, connect each motor connector to the
y-cable and the y-cable to the power supply. Start with one motor connector and align a
2-pin motor connector (male connector) to one of the 2-socket y-cable connectors (female
connector) and push together until fully seated; repeat this step to connect the other motor
connector to the other y-cable 2-socket connector (F
connector (male connector) to the power supply; align the connector to the power supply
and push together until fully seated (F
Place the power supply on the shelf, making sure not to pinch any cords (F

• For styles using the y-cable, neatly wind excess cable and secure it with the provided zip tie, making
sure not to dislodge, pinch, or stretch any cords or connectors (F
Return unit to its upright position.

If you are assembling a sofa, loveseat or chair, proceed to the Operating Instructions. Do not plug in until

instructed in the Operating Instructions.
9. Join sectional units. Sectional units use a single bracket system to join the pieces together;
the bracket system is not intended to be weight-bearing. The joining bracket is positioned in the
up (or "receiving") direction when mounted on the right (as sitting) side of a unit, and in the
down, or "engaging", direction when mounted on the left (as sitting) side of a unit (F
Take note of the bracket direction on each unit that you are joining.
•
Align the units to be joined next to each other and align the mating brackets.
•
Starting with either the right or left arm unit and the unit next to it, slightly spread the front corners of
•
the two units, enough to view the joining brackets.
Lift the front corner of the unit with the bracket facing down, in the "engaging" position, approximately
•
1" – 2" above the adjoining unit, move the unit over to close the front gap and gently lower into place,
making sure the two brackets are engaged.
Repeat these steps until all units are joined.
•
10. All sectional units must be disconnected to safely move the units. Reverse Step 9 to disconnect the units.
11. Proceed to the Operating Instructions. Do not plug in until instructed in the Operating Instructions.
