3) Cut with the top part of the bar.
- Keep the spike (Fig. 37) against
the wood while cutting.
- Cut with the chain sharp and taught.
- Into a cut that has already been
started, insert the chain at top speed
and very attentively.
- Extract the bar from the cut only with
the chain in movement.
B. SAFETY DEVICES ON THE CHAINSAW
The chainsaw must be held with
the left hand on the front handle
and the right on the rear handle
(this applies to left handed people,
too) (fig.11).
The safety devices have been de-
signed to function with the hands
in those positions.
Your chainsaw is provided with the
following safety devices.
B1 - THROTTLE TRIGGER LOOK-
OUT (see Fig.1 part.9) prevents acci-
dental operation of the throttle trigger.
THROTTLE TRIGGER (Fig.1 part.10).
DANGER: Warning. The cutting chain
may continue to rotate for a certain
time after the throttle trigger has been
released.
B2 – STOP SWITCH (Fig.1 part.12)
With the lever down [STOP ] the
engine is stopped.
B3- SAFETY CHAIN BRAKE Your
chainsaw is provided with a safety
chain brake (Fig. 1 part. 7) which can
stop the chain in a fraction of a second
(in the event of a kickback).
B4 – CHAIN CATCHER (Fig. 1 part.
2). This device prevents the chain

from being thrown in the event of it
breaking (or coming out of the bar)
during operation.
On each occasion, before use
check that all the safety devices
function perfectly.
If they do not, do not use the chain-
saw and contact a qualified service
centre for the repair. Read chapter
8.3 "CHAIN BRAKE".
