helmet is snug, but not too tight, by turning the knob clockwise. See
figure 2.
To adjust the height of the back strap on the Tracer, gently pull back the
◆
side foam pads, exposing the two hole positions. Without detaching
the strap completely, firmly pull the front-most tab from its current hole
and reinsert the tab in the alternate hole. Return the foam pads to their
original position.
Fasten the chin strap. If necessary, adjust the straps to get a close but
◆
comfortable fit. See figures 3 and 4.
Make sure the helmet is snug, secure and centered to provide maximum
◆
coverage. See figures 5 and 6.
using your helmet
Your Black Diamond helmet is designed to protect your head from falling
◆
objects and from impacts with stationary objects during a fall. Wear your
helmet whenever you are climbing and when rock fall or ice fall from
above are a possibility.
Avoid climbing directly below other parties.
◆
Wear your helmet while belaying and always seek sheltered belay stances.
◆
Be aware of the weather. Warm weather increases ice and rock fall
◆
in frozen environments. Rain and snow increase rock fall in craggy
environments.
WARNINGS
Black Diamond helmets are designed for rock climbing, ice climbing and
ѥ
mountaineering only. Do not use this helmet for any motorized sports,
bicycling, or any activity for which it was not designed.
