Running and maintaining
your GoGro Essential system
Watering
A fter transplanting, do not use the system to water for
✓
the first seven to ten days. Keep the On/Off Tap shut.
Keeping the growing media drier will encourage faster
and stronger root development. Only water by hand
into the top of the pots, as required during this time.
A fter transplants are established, fill the Reservoir (and
✓
appropriate nutrients if required), ensuring you have
at least 5-10L of water per module; if the Reservoir isn't
elevated you will require an additional 20cm of water.
You are now ready to open the On/Off Tap.
O nce you open the On/Off Tap check that all the trays
✓
are filling and there are no leaks, keep an eye on it for
the first hour or so. If the system is leaking, ensure all
4mm Tube is correctly and securely positioned over
the barbed inlet or Barb Tee. If the trays aren't filling,
check the tube for blockages, or that your Reservoir is
sufficiently elevated.
N ever allow your Reservoir to run completely empty
✓
unless cleaning.
Monitoring root growth
O nce a week, lift the tray lid and monitor root growth;
✓
it is possible some roots (particularly with very fast
growing plants such as cucumbers) will grow out of the
pot. If you can see roots growing towards the Valve trim
them back and remove to prevent blockage.
Feeding
We recommend you only use liquid mineral nutrients
✓
in your Reservoir. Plant foods that are not 100% soluble
may settle and in time could cause blockages. PLANT!T
have a specialist range of nutrients to match all popular
media types .
If you wish to use a liquid organic feed, shut the On/
✓
Off Tap the day before you intend to feed and allow
the substrate to dry a little. Then water the feed into
the top of the pot with a watering can. Repeat this in
accordance with the product instructions and
dose rates.

Cleaning and flushing
Periodically, open the Flush Tap and run a couple of
✓
litres through, either to waste or catch in a jug. This will
flush the main feedline, helping to prevent a potential
build-up of residue and subsequent blockages.
Occasionally clean the Reservoir filter. Allow the
✓
reservoir to run relatively low, then close the On/Off Tap.
Once the tap is closed, open the filter and remove the
sponge. Rinse the sponge well in clean warm water and
fit back within the filter. Don't forget to open the On/
Off Tap again.
R inse the irrigation lines in between crops. Open Flush
✓
tap to drain the Reservoir and empty any remaining
water from the trays. Fill the reservoir with fresh, clean
water, after allowing a few litres to run through, then
shut the Flush Tap and allow the Trays to fill checking for
any blockages between the main feedline and module.
In hard-water areas, slightly acidifying the rinse water
(with vinegar or similar) will help prevent lime-scale
building up inside the lines.

✓Drain the whole system when not in use.
Always handle the system with care; we
recommend allowing the tray to drain prior to
moving the system. It is imperative that water
does not spill into the inner float.
