Now insert the folded/squeezed Sieve Bowl Pessary into the vagina. It
may be helpful to place one leg e.g. on the edge of your bed. Some women
find it easier to insert the ring in a crouching or lying position. You could
also lean against a wall with your legs slightly spread and then insert the
pessary. Try out which method is best for you.
Push the pessary into the position shown to you by your physician. Make
sure that you place the folded Sieve Bowl Pessary in the back vaginal
vault and subsequently push the bowl up towards the front. The pessary
is placed correctly if you cannot feel any pressure. If the Sieve Bowl
Pessary is not placed correctly it cannot fulfil its supporting function and
will slide out under strain.
How do I remove the Sieve Bowl Pessary ?
You should also wash your hands prior to removal. Thoroughly lubricate
your vaginal area with Ladysoft Lubricant. Grab the bowl with your index
finger and pull the pessary out of your vagina. Do not use any other
equipment for removing the Sieve Bowl Pessary. Subsequently wash your
hands again.
What do I do if i cannot remove the pessary ?
Do not worry if you have difficulties removing the pessary – these soft
pessaries can stay in place for a few weeks without any negative effects.
Your gynaecologist will remove the pessary at your next visit (within 4
weeks).
