Before and during use, you must consider how any necessary
rescue operation could be efficiently and safely carried out.
Before installation, check that the shear strength of the support
structure is greater than 30 kN.

Installing the lifeline
a. Attach the cover (5 fig. H) of the tirsafe to the ring of the tirfor.
b. Release the tirfor using release lever (a) (fig. J.1).
c. Insert the wire rope in the tirfor on the side opposite the ring
(fig. J.2), until it reaches the ring.
d. Adjust the length of the line by sliding the wire rope in the
device.
e. Engage the tirfor by unlocking release lever (a) (fig. J.3).
f. Apply tension to the line with operating lever (b) (fig. J.4) until
the indicator strip appears in the indicator window on the tirsa-
fe shock absorber (i) (fig. E).

The following is forbidden use of the lifeline if the clearance is
not (T = F (deflection) + F1 (distance of fall) + 1 m for safety)
(fig G) is not complied with.
N.B.: To determine F1, refer to the information in the manual
of the fall arrest device used.
To release the tension on the line, activate the reverse lever (c)
(fig. J.5) on the tirfor, then release the tirfor so that the wire rope
can be removed (see b in "installation").
Inspect the lifeline before each use or installation on a site.
Check that the shock absorber has not been triggered (fig. F) and
that the line is correctly tensioned (fig. D: before tension applied
- E: after tension applied).
The tirsafe T3 lifeline is a PPE which complies with the require-
ments of standard EN795 B. It has also been tested for use by
2 and 3 people. It can be adjusted from 4 m to 20 m. The strength
of the extremity anchors must be greater than 30 kN.
Check the compatibility of the fall arrest device with the environ-
ment in which the lifeline is installed. Check that the user will
not collide with any obstacle during or after the fall.
For the traveller, use a steel wire connector that conforms to
EN 362.
Protect the device from high and low temperatures +50°-35°.
Protect it from chemical products.
