1. Installation
1. Mount the TechGrow Day/Night Fan Controller on
the wall with the supplied mounting kit.
2. Ensure that the light sensor (the milk-colored cap on
the front) can detect light directly to enable
automatic switching between day and night mode.
3. Plug the fan into an outlet of the Day/Night Fan
Controller.
4. Make sure the rocker switch is set to "OFF".
5. Plug the Day/Night Fan Controller into a power
outlet.
6. Ready!
2. Operation of the Day/Night Fan
Controller
The Day/Night Fan Controller controls the fan speed.
With this controller you can run your fan at a different
speed during the day and at night. The controller
responds to light thanks to the built-in light sensor,
which enables automatic switching between day and
night mode.
The Day/Night Fan Controller has 2 rotary knobs to
adjust the day and night speed of your fan. You can also
opt for a non-stop full speed mode.
3. Connecting sensors or other
devices
It is not possible to connect any sensors or other devices
to the Day/Night Fan Controller. This controller
therefore measures neither the temperature nor the air
humidity, but only regulates the fan speed.
4. Control and set the Day/Night Fan
Controller
4.1 Fan speed: day and night mode
After installing the Day/Night Fan Controller (see section
1), set the rocker switch to "AUTO".
The fan starts running (the fan must be on). Now set the
desired fan speed for the daytime ("DAY") by turning the
left knob.
To adjust the fan speed for the nighttime, cover the light
sensor (for example with your hand) during adjustment.
Now set the desired fan speed by turning the right knob
("NIGHT").

4.2 100% - full speed mode
The controller settings can be (temporarily) bypassed to
let the fan run non-stop at 100%, if desired. To do this,
set the rocker switch to the "100%" position.
To continue with the day and night settings, set the
rocker switch back to "AUTO".
4.3 Switch off the fan
To switch off the Day/Night Fan Controller, set the
rocker switch to "OFF".
5. Fuse replacement
If a short circuit occurs due to fan overload, the fuse will
blow. Even if the Day/Night Fan Controller does not
operate at all, in the worst case, this could indicate a
blown fuse. The fuse (8A or 15A, depending on the
version of your Day/Night Fan Controller) must then be
replaced.
To replace the fuse, go through the following steps (the
fuse holder is placed on the left front side of the
controller to the left of the rotary knob "Day"):
1. Press the black fuse holder slightly with a
screwdriver and turn it a quarter of a turn
counterclockwise.
2. Remove the fuse holder.
3. Remove the fuse.
4. Insert a new 8 or 15 amp fuse (depending on the
version of your Day/Night Fan Controller).
5. Reinstall the fuse holder in the housing of the
Day/Night Fan Controller.
6. Then press the fuse holder again with a screwdriver
and tighten it by turning it a quarter turn clockwise.
Your Day/Night Fan Controller is ready for use again.
