The Drilldoctor XP sharpener is used to sharpen :
• HSS metal, HSS cobalt, coated (TiN, TiAIN, etc.) drill bits, using conical clearance and
split point sharpening.
• Concrete, carbide insert drill bits

sharpening involves 2 main operations :
1. The alignment of the drill bit in the chuck
2. The sharpening of the drill bit.
Optional: for metal drill bits Drilldoctor XP is used to thin the sharpening for split point
sharpening,.

Insert the drill bit into the chuck
Tighten slightly

Turn the drill bit in the chuck so
that it is gripped by the metal jaws
in its narrowest part
Split point sharpening

Insert the chuck into the alignment
window

Firmly maintain the chuck and
tighten the drill bit using the knob
until it stops moving
You are ready to sharpen

Align the chuck guide on the notch
marked 118° or on the left notches to
increase the taper angle
