Maintenance Instructions

BEFORE EACH USE:

1. Check the area surrounding the heater to ensure
it is clear and free from combustible materials,
gasoline, and other fl ammable vapors and liquids.
2. Check all wiring, associated terminals, and electri-
cal components within the heater for corrosion,
frayed or cut insulation, tight connections, etc.
Repair or replace as necessary.
3. Check the heater, it gas hose, and all connections
for gas leaks using approved leak detectors
4. Check the hose assembly. If it is evident there is
excessive abrasion or wear, or if the hose is cut,
replace the hose immediately, prior to the heater
beiing put into operation.
5. Inspect the gas regulator's vent to make sure it is
not blocked. debris, insects, insect nests, snow, or
ice on a regualtor can block the vents and caszue
excess pressure at the heater.
6. Give the heater a general cleaning using air, a soft
brush or dry cloth.
7. Review all heater markings (ie: wiring diagrams,
warnings, start-up, shut-down, troubleshooting,
etc.) at this time for legibility. Make sure none are
cut, torn, or otherwise damaged. Any damaged
markings must be replaced immediately by
contacting the L.B. White Co., Inc. Dataplates,
start-up and shut-down instructions, warnings, and
wiring diagrams are available at no cost.

ANNUALLY:
1. Have your gas supplier check all gas piping for
leaks or restrictions in gas lines.
2. Regulators can wear out and function improperly.
Have your gas supplier check the date codes on
all regulators installed and check delivery pres-
sures to the heater to make sure that the regulator
is reliable.
3. Test the manual reset high limit heat switch to
ensure proper operation (see Testing instructions
for same within this manual.)
