5.8.1. Use:
The helmet is made to absorb impact energy
by partial destruction or damage of the shell
and the head inset. Even if such damage is not
apparent immediately, each helmet that has
been exposed to a serious impact should be
replaced.
It is forbidden to make any modifications or
remove any original parts of the helmet unless
recommended by the helmet manufacturer.
Helmets should not be modified in order to fix
accessories in any way not recommended by
the manufacturer. Do not apply adhesives,
paints, solvents or do not place self-adhesive
labels if it does not comply with the helmet
manufacturer's instructions.
5.8.2. Face seal replacement:
Removing the face seal:
•
Pull the rear part of face seal out of the
adjusting screw.
•
Remove the plastic part with the
adjusting screw from the helmet by unsnapping
from the fixing holes.
•
Carefully pull the face seal out of
individual pins located on the helmet shield.
•
Remove the inner part of face seal by
unsnapping from the 4 optional holes along the
inner interference of the helmet.
Putting on the face seal:
•
Fix the inner part of face seal by
snapping into the 4 optional holes along the
inner interference of the helmet.
•
Carefully put the face seal holes on
individual pins located on the helmet shield.
•
Place the plastic part with the adjusting
screw in the helmet by snapping into the fixing
holes.
•
Put the rear hole of face seal on the
adjusting screw.
5.8.3. Protection foil replacement:
We recommend using protection foils for all
Clean-AIR hoods. The foil protects the hood
visor and prevents it from damaging and
soiling. An early replacement of foils extends
the hood life, provides a continuously good
through view and makes work easier. A
protection polycarbonate foil is available for
protection of the self-darkening cartridge. The
foil is fitted from both the outer and inner side
of the cartridge and prevents spray balls from
sticking to the visor. The inner foil is inserted
straight in the cartridge, the outer one is to be
inserted in front of the cartridge in the hood
frame. Before installing protective foils, peel off
the thin cover films from their both sides.
Outer protection foil replacement:
•
Remove the foil by pulling at its lower
part in the area of the hollow on the shield.
•
Reinstalling is done by inserting the foil
in the side grooves of the space in front of the
cartridge.
Inner protection foil replacement:
•
The foil can be removed by easily
pulling out of the fixing grooves, but only after
removing the self-darkening cartridge (see
Chapter 4.7.4).
Warning: Do not clean foils dry, otherwise they
may be scratched easily and their transparency
will be reduced. Foils can also concentrate
electrostatic discharges and, therefore, the
through view may be reduced in a dusty
environment!
5.8.4. Cartridge replacement:
•
Remove the fixing screws of the
cartridge from the inner side of the helmet
shield.
•
Take the welding cartridge out.
•
Insert a new cartridge and tighten it
with screws into the original position.
The CA – 40 hood can only be combined with
approved welding filters 90 x 110 mm in size! -
see the list of parts and accessories.
5.8.5. Welding shield replacement:
•
Remove the screws on the sides of the
safety helmet.
•
Recline the shield down for easy
removal.
•
Pull the shield out of the fixing pin on
one side of the helmet.
•
Install
a new shield
procedure.
Warning: Scratched or otherwise damaged
visors should be replaced for new ones in due
time.
5.8.6. Check and maintenance
The helmet is a complete system comprised of
a helmet, grinding/welding shield and inner
headband. The utility life of the helmet is
affected by many factors such as: cold, heat,
chemicals, sunlight or incorrect use. The
helmet should be checked daily for signs of
cracking, fragility or inner structure damage.
If any damage is detected, the helmet must be
replaced for a new one!!! The helmet must be
replaced after 5 years of usage anyway.
6. Storage
All parts of CleanAIR systems must be stored
in rooms with air temperatures ranging
between 0° and 40°C and relative air humidity
between 20% and 80% Rh. The maximum
storage time in closed package is 2 years.
