so you will be able to enjoy this appliance and its benefits for your pets for a long time:

•
Self-adhesive for application to the outside of the terrarium, e.g. bottom, sides or top.

•
Self-limiting PTF heating elements to prevent overheating.
•
With an additional "trim film" for visible application e.g. to the side of the terrariums.
•
Safety ensured by 3 layers of insulation and an electrical connection sealed with special
resin.
Instructions for Use:
JBL TerraTemp heating mats comply with the valid EU guidelines and offer maximum safety
for the user: Heating elements covered by 3 layers of PET film are printed onto an extra-sturdy
PET carrier film.
JBL TerraTemp heating mats are self-adhesive so they can be applied anywhere on the outside
of a terrarium. We recommend applying the mats to the sides, back side or top of the terrarium.
It is not advisable to apply them to the bottom, as the animals are used to having the heat
from the sun come from above in their natural surroundings. When reptiles are threatened by
overheating, they try to withdraw from the heat by burrowing, which would not be possible if the
heating mat were on the bottom.
When applied to the sides of the terrarium, the visible heating elements of the heating mats
are often disturbing. That is why every JBL TerraTemp heating mat comes with a self-adhesive
trim film in neutral dark brown which can be applied to the inside of the terrariums to make the
heating mat invisible.
We recommend applying the heating mats to the terrarium from the OUTSIDE in order to protect
them from moisture and from becoming wet. As the heating mats emit radiant heat, the animals
and objects within the terrarium are easily warmed.
Many animals require a temperature gradient in the terrarium, as they are accustomed to retiring
to cooler spots as needed. Accordingly, the heating mats should never cover the entire terrarium.
Installation:
•
Clean the selected side of the terrarium from the outside so that it is free of dust and grease.
Pull the protective film off the heating mat and press the heating mat onto the installation
surface, smoothing out bubbles.
•
If the heating elements of the heating mat are visible from the inside in the terrarium, cover
them with the enclosed self-adhesive trim film.
•
When installing on the bottom of the terrarium, make sure to apply the self-adhesive
spacers on the bottom of the terrariums in such a way that the mat is even and secure and
can be stuck on in the designated place. If installed on the bottom, the heating mat must
never cover the entire bottom of the terrarium. Also, please observe the note regarding the
substrates which may be used with heating mats.
•
Turn the heating mat on by connecting it to the mains power supply.
•
Turn it off by pulling the plug.
•
A standard automatic timer or a suitable thermostat can also be used as an alternative.
