1. Important Safety Warning
Please comply with all warnings and operating instructions in this manual. Save this manual for
reference and read all the instructions carefully prior to installation and operation.
1-1. Transportation
Transport the UPS only in the original package to protect against damage, shock or
impact.
1-2. Preparation
Condensation may occur if the UPS system is moved directly between cold and warm
environments. The UPS system must be free from moisture prior to installation. Allow
at least two hours for the UPS system to acclimate to the environment.
Do not locate the UPS system near water or in high humidity environments.
Do not locate the UPS system where it will be exposed to direct sunlight or near heat
sources.
Do not block ventilation slots in the UPS housing. Avoid overheating with sufficient
ventilation.
1-3. Installation
Do not connect electronic devices which could overload the UPS system (e.g. laser
printers, scanners) to the UPS output sockets.
Arrange cables to avoid stepping on or tripping over them.
Do not connect personal appliances such as hair dryers to UPS output sockets.
Connect the UPS system only to a an easily accessed and grounded (shockproof
outlet) in proximity of where the UPS system is to be installed.
Use only VDE-tested, CE-marked (or UL-marked for
mains cable (e.g. the mains power cable of your computer) to connect the UPS
system to a grounded, shockproof outlet.
Use only VDE-tested, CE-marked (or UL-marked for
power cables to connect the loads to the UPS system.
When installing equipment, ensure that the sum of the leakage current of the UPS
and the connected devices does not exceed 3.5mA.
Temperature Rating: Units are considered acceptable for use in a maximum ambient
of 40°C (104°F).
1-4. Operation
Do not disconnect the UPS system's mains cable or from the building wiring outlet
(shockproof socket outlet) during operation as this will eliminate the protective
grounding of the UPS system and of all connected loads.
The UPS system features its own, internal current source (batteries). The UPS output
sockets, or output terminals block may be electrically live even if the UPS system is
not connected to the building wiring outlet.
In order to fully disconnect the UPS system, first press the OFF/Enter button to
disconnect the mains.
Prevent liquids or allowing foreign objects to contact the UPS' internal electronics.
