BAW M12M_-BLC_ _ _-S04G
Inductive Linear Position Sensor
The CE Mark verifies that our products
meet the requirements of the current
EMC Directive.
Intended use
The inductive linear position sensors
BAW M12M_-BLC_ _ _-S04G with IO-Link interface form a
distance measuring/positioning system together with a
machine controller (e.g. PLC) and an IO-Link master. It is
intended to be installed into a machine or system.
Opening the sensor or non-approved use are not permit-
ted and will result in the loss of warranty and liability claims
against the manufacturer.
General safety notes
Installation and startup may only be performed by
trained specialists with basic electrical knowledge.
The operator
is responsible for ensuring that local safety regulations are
observed. In particular, the operator must take steps to
ensure that a defect in the distance measuring system will
not result in hazards to persons or equipment.
If efects and unresolvable faults occur in the sensor,
it should be taken out of service and secured against
unauthorized use.

Dimensions and function
The inductive linear positioning sensors BAW supply an
IO-Link output signal that changes in proportion to the
distance to a metallic target. Workpieces (=targets) with
variable shapes and sizes made of ferritic or non-ferritic
material dampen the sensor in various ways. Therefore,
positions, distances, and material variants can be identified
very simply.
