Refer to fig. 2 on page 4:
1. Depress the locating buttons (6) at
each end of the WX1 module. The
module will drop out easily.
The battery compartment has no
cover.
2. If there is a dead or defective battery
inside the battery compartment, re-
move the battery.
3. Insert the supplied battery or a new
AAA battery (7) into the battery com-
partment as shown in fig. 2, making
sure to align the battery with the "+"
and "-" polarity symbols.
4. Set the ON/MUTE/OFF switch (1) to
ON. (Refer to fig. 1.)
• The status LED (2) will flash momen-
tarily. If the battery is in good condi-
tion, the status LED (2) will extin-
guish.
• If the status LED (2) remains lit con-
stantly the battery will be dead within
about 60 minutes. Replace the bat-

tery with a new one as soon as possi-
ble.
• If the status LED (2) fails to flash at all,
the battery is dead or inserted the
wrong way. Insert a new battery or
align the battery correctly with the "+"
and "-" polarity symbols.
5. Insert the transmitter module (8) into
the rear of the harmonica module (9)
and press home gently until it locks
with an audible click.
Check that the locating buttons (6) at
each end of the transmitter module
(8) have located in the matching holes
(10) in the harmonica module (9).

4 Operating Notes

4.1 Getting Started

1. Check that the carrier frequency of the
transmitter is identical to the receiving
frequency of your SR 40 HARMONIX.
The carrier frequency (frequencies) of
the transmitter and the receiving fre-
quencies of the receiver are indicated
in MHz on the respective frequency
stickers and in the respective Manual
Supplements.
2. Use a small screwdriver to turn the
input gain control (3) on the transmit-
ter to a position halfway between the
left and right stops.
3. Set the ON/MUTE/OFF switch to ON
to switch power to the transmitter on.
4. Set the SQUELCH control on the
receiver to minimum and switch
power to the receiver on.
5. Switch power to your sound system
or amplifier on.
6. Play your harmonica, watching the
AF LEDs on the receiver.
• If the OK LED flashes rarely and the
PEAK LED will not flash at all, the
transmitter input gain is too low. Turn
up the input gain control (3) CW to
