Operation
WARNING!
The vacuum unit enclosure must be partly open during first start of the unit. Ear
protection should be used. Unauthorised personnel are not permitted in the area.
Checks before first start
•
The electric supply is live but the main switch is OFF.
•
Motor cables are correctly wired to the motor as per the external wiring diagram.
•
The maintenance switch is installed and ON. The auxiliary switch is wired to the
starter.
•
Compressed air is supplied to the vacuum unit (and the dust collector).
•
Pilot signal cable from vacuum valves (AS-set) is wired to the starter if the
installation is fitted with automatic start/stop. No vacuum valves at work sites must
be open. (Bridge terminals 3–4 if the installation is not fitted with a pilot signal cable
from vacuum outlets.)
•
Other connections to the vacuum unit and the dust collector are correctly made as
per the external wiring diagram in chapter '6 External connection'.
Preparing for first start
Close the enclosure door of the starter and switch on the Main Switch. The display
automatically shows.
The vacuum unit is now ready for start. If warnings or alarms are displayed at this point
the display shows where to find the fault(s). Refer to Chapter '13 Warnings and alarms'
for resetting warnings and alarms.
NOTE!
First read the following two pages without pushing any buttons. Thereafter, carry out the
first start.
