CLEANING
The MST Maestro™ handle must be sterilized in a steam
autoclave prior to each use. The handle and tip should not
be assembled during autoclaving.
CAUTION: Improper or inadequate cleaning may result
in particulate matter adhering to the instrument and
exfoliation into the surgical eld. In addition, the function
and life expectancy may become compromised.
The recommended cleaning process for the Maestro™
system is as follows:
1. DURING THE PROCEDURE
Immediately after use, soak I/A tips and handles in
distilled water.
2. POST PROCEDURE CLEANING

handle with the tip attached to the handle and the
irrigation sleeve removed. See your irrigation sleeve's
user manual for sterilization instructions.

b. Connect syringe to the handle's irrigation port and
expel the water.
c. Disconnect the syringe and repeat steps a and b two
more times.
d. Repeat this same process for the handle's aspiration
port.
Part II:
a. Remove the tip.

Part III:
a. Reattach the tip.
b. Flush both lumens of the handle with tip with 10cc of
air 3 times each.

instruments during cleaning and sterilization.
