Measure the frame width from the rebate to the outer edge and add the
desired play.

Multiply this sum by 0.828 and, finally, add the length of the picture side.
12 sides:

Measure the frame width from the rebate to the outer edge and add the
desired play.

Multiply this sum by 0.536 and, finally, add the length of the picture side.
Most wooden frames can easily be jointed at the corners by putting a suitable
type of glue on both the end surfaces. Clamp the pieces together with a
PRM 4-8 cord clamp. (Picture R)
Producing bowls through compound mitre
•
Cut exact lengths of the work pieces.
•
Place the work pieces with the joints together and with the outside of the
work piece upwards.
•
Fasten the joints (all except one) together with tape. (Picture S)
•
Turn the pieces upside down and put glue on the joints. (Picture T)
•
Press the bowl together and fasten the last joint with tape. (Picture U)
•
Let the glue dry and remove the tape. (Picture V)
Incorrect angles
If the angles are incorrect then check the following:
•
Check that you have fitted the blade correctly and that it is running
smoothly through the blade guides.
•
Tighten the saw blade with the wing nut on the saw frame but do not
overtighten as this could distort the blade.
•
Check that there is no play between the pivoted arm and the saw table.
(Any fault must be corrected by the manufacturer).
•
Check that the uprights are straight and locked with the grub screw.
•
Cut a thin and high work piece (around 20x100 mm) standing on the nar-
rower edge. Check the 90° angle with a square between the table and
the cut end. It must be clamped to the wall during the cutting and the
checking. Repeat the procedure on two other pre-set angles. (Picture W)

If the cut is not square it normally results from a defect with the saw
blade. Change the saw blade and repeat the test.
