Mounting the Retaining Clamp
Fastening the Retaining Clamp
Join the metal surfaces 21 of the retaining clamp 20
exactly together with the magnets 6 of the laser
receiver.
Removing the Retaining Clamp
Hold the laser receiver with one hand while folding the
retaining clamp 20 back and off with the other hand.
Fastening the Safety Pin
(see figure A)
Thread the securing strap 25 onto the safety pin 24
and guide the safety pin through the opening 5 of the
laser receiver.
Fasten the securing strap 25 to a suitable location to
prevent the laser receiver from falling down.
Inserting/Replacing the Battery
Remove the batteries from the measuring
tool when not using it for extended periods.
When storing for extended periods, the batteries
can corrode and discharge themselves.
Alkali-manganese batteries are recommended for the
measuring tool.
Always replace both batteries. Use only batteries of
the same brand and with the same capacity.
When inserting batteries, pay attention to the correct
polarity according to the representation on the inside
of the battery compartment.
Replace the battery as soon as the battery indicator
17 lights up on the display.
Operation
Initial Operation
Loud audio signals will sound under certain
conditions while operating the measuring
tool. Therefore, keep the measuring tool
away from your ear or other persons. The loud
audio signal can cause hearing damage.
Protect the measuring tool against moisture
and direct sun light.

Do not subject the measuring tool to
extreme temperatures or variations in tem-
perature. As an example, do not leave it in vehi-
cles for longer periods. In case of large variations
in temperature, allow the measuring tool to adjust
to the ambient temperature before putting it into
operation.
Switching On and Off
A loud audio signal sounds when switching
on the measuring tool. Therefore, keep the
measuring tool away from your ear or other
persons when switching on. The loud audio
signal can cause hearing defects.
To switch on the measuring tool, press the On/Off
switch 8.
To switch off the measuring tool, press the On/Off
button 8 for a few seconds.
When no pushbutton on the measuring tool is
pressed for approx. 30 minutes and when no laser
beam is impinged upon the reception area 4 for
30 minutes, the measuring tool switches off automat-
ically to save the batteries.
Adjusting the Measuring Accuracy
Button 7 is used to specify the accuracy with which
the position of the laser beam is indicated as "cen-
tred" on the reception area 4.

Adjusting the Audio Signal
After the measuring tool has been switched on, the
audio signal is not active.
To adjust the volume level, press button 9:

High audio signal
2x
Low audio signal
3x
Audio signal off
Adjusting the Display Illumination
Press button 9 for at least 2 s to switch the display illu-
mination on or off.
When the display illumination is activated, indicator
18 appears on the display.
