A.
Open filter lid and remove any tube parts or packaging.
B.
Rinse the cartridge in clean, room-temperature water that has been treated with a
water conditioner to remove chlorine (this will extend the life of your carbon) (Fig. 2).

Ensure the cartridge is secured in place (Fig. 3).
D.
Assemble tube parts so that the strainer sits approximately 1 to 2 inches above your
gravel (this may require you to either include or leave out the extension tube) (Fig. 4).
E.
Place filter in back of your aquarium, but do not plug in yet.
F.
Ensure your water level is at or above the minimum water level engraved on the Filter Motor (Fig. 5).
G.
Plug in the filter, making a drip loop for safety (see Safety Instructions).
Adding Fish: Allow your AQUA-Tech
Start with 2-3 fish per 10 gallons of water. Add more fish gradually over a 4-6 week period. For best
results, always use Tetra SafeStart
®

A.
For best results, use gravel instead of sand in your aquarium.
B.
For best fit, standoff can be removed (Fig. 1).
- The filter was designed to securely fit a variety of frame sizes up to:
Model 10-20: 0.96" thick
Model 20-40: 1.05" thick
Model 30-60: 1.11" thick
