3. Connectors and operating elements

3.1

DC 12V jack

The 12 V adapter cable which is provided with the tester is connected to
this jack. Depending on the position of the flip switch labeled "On / ADSL
Test" ↔ "Off / Line Test", either the batteries will be charged (device
switched off) or the DSL tester will be externally powered while the
batteries are trickle-charged (device switched on).
In order to prevent a continuous restart of the fast charging when the
device is using AC power and this switch is activated, the battery charging
procedure starts only if the switch is already in the "Off / Line Test" position
and the plug on the power supply cable is then connected to the DC jack.
In this case, the orange "Charge" LED on the top side of the housing will
light up.
The following table summarizes the possible combinations of the switch
position and external power supply connection:
