FOR SELF-RIMMING INSTALLATIONS
Temporarily set the sink into the countertop cutout. Follow either of
the following two methods of preparing for sealant application:
S
Trace a pencil line on the countertop around the entire
outside edge of the sink; or
S
Apply masking tape to the countertop around the entire
outside edge of the sink to aid clean-up of sealant. The
masking tape should be applied approximately 1/8" (3mm)
from the sink edge. Be sure the tape is applied smoothly
around the entire sink, including the corners.
Remove the sink from the cutout.
Drill the faucet holes, and install the faucet to the countertop
according to the faucet manufacturer's instructions.
Apply two beads of sealant to the countertop between the cutout
and pencil line or masking tape. Evenly spread out the sealant with
a clean putty knife.
Carefully set the sink into the cutout so the sink edges line up with
the pencil line or masking tape. Press down on the sink firmly and
evenly.
Immediately wipe away any excess sealant with a dry, clean towel.
Fill any voids in the sealant joint, as needed.
If you applied masking tape around the sink edges, carefully
remove it at this time.
