INDICATIONS FOR USE
Conditions benefitting from hip repositioning and/or compression
around the greater trochanters, this may include:
• Hip osteoarthritis (OA)
• Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI)
• Labrum tears
CONTRAINDICATIONS
None known.
GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
CAUTION: For patients with peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy, and
sensitive skin, physician supervision is recommended. If redness
appears, decrease usage of the brace. Increase slowly as skin adapts.
WARNING: In case of functional change or functional loss, the patient
should stop using the device and contact a healthcare professional.
WARNING: If the device shows signs of damage or wear hindering its
normal functions, the patient should stop using the device and contact a
healthcare professional.
This device is for single patient use.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: At initial evaluation, fold belt arms and straps instead of cutting.
When appropriate length has been determined, cut as needed to obtain
final fit.
Rotation Control Strap Placement (Figure 2)
• Before donning the Unloader Hip, fasten Rotation Control Strap on
the affected side by threading the Upper Alligator Clip through a slit in
belt arm, and attaching it to button hook.
• SmartDosing Dial should be at "0" mark.
• Temporarily fasten lower strap end at the bottom of trousers, so that
it doesn't tear at the Lycra during fitting.
• Have user don the brace.
Belt Arm Adjustment (Figure 3–4)
• Detach Front Closures from Belt Arms.
• Fold/Cut Belt Arms vertically, so that they are aligned with mid-line.
• Re-attach Front Closures.
