Contactor Relay with mechanical latch
Operating Instructions
Read and understand these instructions before installing, operating, or
maintaining the equipment.
!
DANGER
Hazardous voltage.
Will cause death or serious injury.
Disconnect power before working on
equipment.
Reliable functioning of the equipment is only ensured with certified
components.
Mode of operation
The auxiliary contactors latch mechanically after they have been switched
on and remain switched on even in the case of a voltage failure. The contac-
tors switch off as soon as the latching is deactivated. Contactors can be
switched on and off either electrically or manually. Pushbutton control or
maintained-contact control is permissible for the contactor and the release
solenoid if the contactors are switched electrically; however, simultaneous
maintained-contact control of both the contactor and the release solenoid is
not permissible.
Unlocking is only possible if the ON-coil is not energized.
Mounting
For the dimension drawing, refer to Fig. I (dimensions in mm)
- Drawing Ia AC-operated contactor
- Drawing Ib DC-operated contactor
Minimum distance to grounded components: 8 mm
Snap-on mounting on 35 mm standard mounting rail according to
DIN EN 50 022 or screw mounting on even surface with 2 M4 screws. Wash-
ers and spring washers must be used.
Cover up the contactor during mounting if foreign matters (for example drill-
ings) could come into contact with the devices. In case of pollution, dust or
an aggressive atmosphere, mount the contactors in the housing.
For the permissible mounting position, refer to Fig. II.
Connection
The connection screws are suitable for electric screw drivers.
Width of the blade of the screw driver: 5 to 6 mm
Permissible conductor cross section:
- Solid
- Finely stranded, with wire end ferrule
- AWG wiring
- Stud torque
For the unit wiring diagram and schematic circuit diagram, refer to
Fig. III.
* Operate S2 only for a short time as long as S1 is not activated.
** Release manually
Operation
Observe the actuating voltage (refer to the label of the magnet coil).
Attention
Do not dismantle the mechanical latching and do not change the
adjustment!
The circuit state of the contactor can be seen on the contact position
indicator, refer to Fig. IV.

Maintenance
Replaceable: magnet coil
Refer to the catalog for order numbers.
In order to ensure the operating safety of the contactors, use only original
spare parts!
Cleaning
Remove dust deposits (suction cleaning).
Replacement of the coil, refer to
- Figure Va AC-operated coil
- Figure Vb DC-operated coil
Keep the magnet pole surfaces clean; do not use grease solvents for clean-
ing and do not scratch with sharp objects!
The coil for the unlocking block is not exchangeable.
