Fault Protection
S
Three fault protections are built in to both models. The WD2 unit will
H
show the indicated fault code on the display. Each fault will also sound
the buzzer for one minute, and shut down the heating and cooling
functions.
1) Dry-Boil Protection: Code E1. This fault is triggered if the
hot water tank boils dry.
2) Excessive Temperature: Code E2. This fault is triggered if
the hot water exceeds 97° C (207° F), or the cold water falls to
0° C (32° F).
3) Sensor Fault: Code E3. This fault is triggered if the sensors
are shorted out or disconnected.
The unit may need to be shut down for 1-2 hours for the fault
codes to reset.

DEFROSTING

Defrosting model WD2
If there is ice buildup in the chiller compartment, follow the following
guidelines.
1. Remove all items from the chiller.
2. Turn the chiller mode to OFF.
3. Place a bowl of warm water in the chiller compartment to help
melt the ice.
4. Prepare for melting ice by setting towels around the base.
5. Do NOT use electric heaters or sharp objects to remove ice.
6. After all the ice is removed, wipe down the inside of the
compartment with a clean cloth or paper towel.
7. Put the unit in chill mode, and place items back in the
compartment.
CLEANING THE DISPENSER
• Use mild detergent and water to clean the surfaces of the
dispenser. Do not use scouring cleaners or solvent-based sprays.
(these would damage the plastic).
• Keep the refrigerator coils free from dust buildup.
DISINFECTING THE UNIT
Before the dispenser is first used, or as needed, it should be
disinfected as below:
1. Unplug the dispenser.
2. Drain the dispenser
3. Remove the water bottle.
4. Remove the bottle support by turning it and lifting it up.
5. Mix 1 teaspoon of household bleach into a gallon of water.
Do not pour undiluted bleach into the dispenser.
6. Pour the bleach / water mixture into the opening.
7. Run a couple cups of water out of both the hot and cold water
outlets.
8. Let the system sit with this mixture for at least 10 minutes.
9. Drain the bleach / water mixture from the dispenser.
10. Reinstall the bottle support.
11. Install a full bottle of water.
12. Drain the bottle of water through the cold and hot water outlets.

13. Install a second bottle and drain this. When about 1/2 of the water
is left, remove the drain plug and stopper in back and drain this
into a bucket.
Burn hazard. If the unit has been plugged in and
the heater turned on, the water draining from the back of the
dispenser will be hot.
14. Install a useable bottle of water. Run some into a cup from the
front water outlet. There should be no smell of bleach. If there is,
go back to step 11.
15. If the water does not smell of bleach, plug the unit in and set the
functions from the front panel.

EXTENDED STORAGE

If the unit is to be left unused for more than a few days, follow these
guidelines:
1. Unplug the unit
2. Drain the water and remove the bottle.
3. For the WD2, empty the chiller compartment.
4. Defrost the chiller compartment if it has ice buildup.
5. Leave an opened box of baking soda in the chiller compartment to
absorb odors.
