Special safety instructions

» Wear hearing protection when
hammer drilling. Noise exposure can
cause hearing loss.
» Use the additional handles supplied
with the unit. Losing control of the tool
may lead to injury.
» Grasp the device by the insulated
holding surfaces when performing
work during which the inserted tool
may contact hidden power lines or
its own power cord. Contact with an
electrified power line may also electrify
the metal parts of the tool and lead to
electric shock.
» Pay attention for hidden electric lines
as well as gas and water pipes. Use
a metal detecting instrument before
beginning work to ensure that you will
not run into these pipes.
» Grasp the power tool securely. Brief
reaction torque may occur.
» Do not touch the rotating tool.
» Secure the work piece sufficiently.
Use clamps or a vice to secure your
work piece.
» Move the rotation selection switch
to the center position to avoid
unintentional actuation during
maintenance or transport.
» Switch off the power tool
immediately if the inserted tool
is blocked. Be prepared for high
reaction torques causing kickback.
The inserted tool will blocks if:
- the power tool is overloaded or
- it is tilted in the workpiece to be
machined.
Dealing with dusty conditions
Inhaling or touching dust from
materials such as lead-based paints,
some types of wood, metals, or
minerals containing asbestos can
cause allergic reactions, respiratory
diseases and/or cancer, among other
effects. Work on asbestos-containing
materials may only be carried out by
trained specialists.
- Ensure the work location is well
ventilated and use an appropriate
exhaust system.
