OPERATION
Analog mode
The 'analog' mode was designed as a safe mode to be used without batteries. In this mode the zoom is operating at maximum zoom speed range, progressive
mode. It is also possible to use 'record start/stop' function.
The controller will enter the mode automatically in case:
• the batteries are not connected or are below specified minimum voltage level
• the user has pressed the 'analog' button
• the controller is not connected to the camera
• the controller is connected to the camera, but it is switched off
Digital mode
In 'Digital" mode you get access to advanced zoom functions. You may limit maximal zoom speed to one of the predefined speeds: slowest, medium and
fastest, or you may decide to choose your own custom speed. You may also decide whether to always zoom with constant speed (fixed zoom mode), or to use
full range of your zoom wheel and zoom with unmatched precision from slowest up to selected zoom speed (progressive mode zoom).
Entering the 'digital' mode
Connect the controller to the camera, as described in paragraph above, and press the 'digital' button. One of the LEDs will light indicate current zoom mode
(fixed/progressive) and limited speed (maximal/medium/fasted/custom speed). This is the same mode that was chosen for the last time the controller was in
'digital' mode.
If the LED will go off after few seconds and the controller will go back into the 'analog' mode, it means that the batteries are low, the camera is not powered,
the controller is not connected to the camera or there is a problem with the cable – check the connection.
If the low battery status LED is blinking you should exchange the batteries as soon as possible.
Selecting zoom speed limit
Press one of the zoom speed buttons: slowest, medium, fastest or custom. The zoom mode LED should light below or above the zoom speed button
indicating current zoom speed.
Selecting zoom mode
To chose between the progressive and fixed zoom modes, press the zoom speed button – each time you press the button, zoom mode will change from
progressive to fixed and vice versa. The LED will indicate current mode.
The slowest zoom speed may be operated only in fixed mode, as this is slowest possible camera speed.
Progressive mode zoom
Rotate the knob right (or left, dependent on the zoom direction) to zoom tele. The more angle the knob is rotated the faster zoom speed is.
Zoom speed is limited to the speed indicated by LED.
Rotate the knob left (or right, dependent on the zoom direction) to zoom wide. The more angle the knob is rotated the faster zoom speed is.
Zoom speed is limited to the speed indicated by LED.
