INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
ASSORTMENT OF TOOLS FOR REPAIRING DAMAGED THREADS ON BRAKE CALIPER BRACKETS

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING! Ensure health and safety, local and general good workshop practice regulations are adhered to when
using tools.
DO NOT use tools if damaged.
Maintain tools in good and clean condition for best and safest performance.
Wear approved eye protection and suitable clothing to avoid snagging.
Account for all tools and parts being used and do not leave them in or near engine.
After work, return all parts to case and store this in a safe, dry, childproof location.
IMPORTANT: These instructions are provided as a guide only. Always refer to vehicle manufacturer's
service instructions, or a proprietary manual, to establish current procedure and data.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Assess severity of damage and decide whether to repair original thread or replace bush.

2. If damage is small, try to repair original thread using M9 x 1.25 tap supplied with tool.
N.B. A hand tap is supplied; therefore, do not use any electric or pneumatic impact wrenches.
3. If damage to thread is more severe, a new bush should be fitted in.
- select a suitable centring template according to car;
- fix template to undamaged bolt, using 12 mm hole, and place 11 mm hole at hole that needs remaking;
- use a drill and hole repairing bit to enlarge damaged hole to a diameter of 10 mm, using 11 mm hole of centring
template as a guide;
- remove centring template;
- spread a layer of thread adhesive on a threaded bush, and place bush in callipers support;
- place callipers and screw undamaged bolt;
- screw repaired thread bolt until bush locks in place.
The repair is now completed.
