PUMP DISASSEMBLY
(See Figures 1 and 2)
1.
Hazardous voltage.
Disconnect power to motor (see
Figure 1) before servicing pump.
2. Open faucets or lines to release all
pressure in system before proceeding.

3. Disconnect wires to pressure
switch.
4. Remove pressure switch tube from
barbed elbow on pump body and
allow pump to drain.
5. Remove four hex nuts which hold
the pump body to the motor.
6. Remove the motor, seal plate,
impeller, diffuser and pad as a unit
(See Figure 2).

CLEANING/REPLACING IMPELLER
NOTE: First, follow instructions under
"Pump Disassembly".
1. Remove two screws fastening dif-
fuser to seal plate; remove diffuser
(See Key Nos. 9 and 10, Figure 15).
Exposed impeller can now be
cleaned.
2. If impeller must be replaced, loosen
two machine screws and remove
motor canopy (See Figure 3). If
motor has a capacitor, go to step 3.
If motor does not have a capacitor,
go to step 6.

hold insulated-handle screwdriver by the
handle and short capacitor terminals
together. Do not touch metal screw-
driver blade or capacitor terminals. If in
doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

3. Unscrew capacitor clamp and
remove capacitor. Do not dis-
connect capacitor wires to motor.
4. Slide 7/16" open end wrench in
behind spring loaded switch on
motor end of shaft; hold motor shaft
with wrench on shaft flats and
unscrew impeller by turning counter-
clockwise when looking into eye of
impeller.
5. To reinstall, reverse steps 1 through
4. Mount diffuser as shown in
Figure 11.

CLEANING/REPLACING THE
SHALLOW WELL EJECTOR
NOTE: First, follow instructions under
"Pump Disassembly".
1. Unscrew venturi and remove it (See
Figure 4).

2. If necessary, unscrew and remove
nozzle with a 5/8" deepwell socket
wrench (See Figure 5).

3. Clean venturi and nozzle by care-
fully inserting an ice pick or other
small diameter pointed tool, dis-
lodging foreign material.
IMPORTANT: Be careful not to enlarge
hole in nozzle or venturi. If venturi and
nozzle cannot be cleaned or are dam-
aged while cleaning, replace.
4. Reinstall venturi and nozzle by
threading clock-wise into pump
ejector body insert until snug. Do
not overtighten.
5. See directions under "Pump
Reassembly".
REMOVING OLD SEAL
1. Follow instructions under "Pump
Disassembly."
2. Follow steps 1 through 5 under
"Cleaning/Replacing Impeller."
3. Remove rotating half of seal by
placing two screwdrivers under seal
plate and carefully prying up
(Figure 6). Seal plate will slide off
shaft, bringing seal with it.
