Introduction
The SenSura ostomy adhesive plate and ostomy pouch are intended to collect
output from a stoma. The SenSura adhesive barrier is intended to adhere to
peristomal skin and is used for positioning of ostomy pouches.
Adhesive - a unique double-layer adhesive
SenSura with its unique double-layer adhesive is engineered for optimal discretion
and security. It protects the skin and follows all body movements without compro-
mising on adhesion, while also keeping the skin underneath the adhesive healthy
by absorbing excess moisture.
Flex coupling
The adhesive coupling is designed to be secure, flexible and discreet.
Filter and filter label
The air filter increases the air flow and removes unpleasant odor for more discre-
tion. Each pack is provided with filter covers. Simply stick a cover onto the opening
of the filter if you want to prevent gas from escaping or when bathing or swimming.
Soft cover
The soft cover is made of strengthened fabric and is water repellent.
For Convex Light only
Convex light products are designed for those people who have an ostomy that is
flush (skin level), retracted (below skin level) or ostomies located in skin folds. The
appliance comes with a belt attachment on either side.
How to use drainable and closed pouches
1
1. Cutting
Trace the size and shape of the stoma on the stoma
guide. Cut the hole to fit the size and shape of the
stoma. To reduce the risk of leakage and skin prob-
lems, it is very important that the hole in the adhesive
fits perfectly around the stoma. Cutting is easier if
you use a curved pair of scissors. Ensure that the
skin is clean and dry before you proceed with the
application of your barrier.
2
2. Removal of protective film
Place a thumb on the white tab on the adhesive and
pull the blue release tab away from the adhesive to
remove the protective film.
3
3. Application of the barrier
Apply the adhesive around the stoma. To ensure a
perfect fit around the stoma. To ensure a perfect fit
around the stoma, press firmly against the skin
starting at the bottom and smoothing upwards with
your fingers.
4
4. Application of the pouch
Ensure the barrier is dry and clean. (When cleaning
the barrier, use only water). Then remove the protec-
tive backing from the adhesive ring of the pouch.
Avoid pulling or stretching the foam adhesive on
the pouch.
5
5. Application of the pouch
A. Place the pouch at the bottom of the barrier -- -
lining up the bottom of the pouch foam adhesive
with the blue line located on the outer rim of the
barrier.
B. Gently place the pouch on the barrier without any
pressure or pulling.
C. Finally put light pressure on the pouch and barrier
with your fingers to ensure a perfect fit around the
stoma. It is possible to reposition the pouch once
just after application. Ensure the flange is clean
when re-applying.
6
6. Removal of pouch
Apply light pressure to the flange with one hand and
remove pouch with the other, pulling the blue tab.

pull the barrier away from the skin. Apply light pres-
sure on the skin with your free hand as you peel the
barrier downwards.
