GB
- after determining the quantity to be removed, lock the register screw with the ring nut (photo 8 - point 2)
- to avoid overloading the motor and to prevent the chain from being damaged, remove minimum quantities of material and
do not work too long on the same tooth, so as not to damage the cutter
- adjust the grinding depth with the register screw positioned on the arm, without nicking connecting links (photo 9)
- after determining the grinding depth, lock the register screw with the ring nut (photo 9 - point 1)
- adjust the clamping lever; press the red push-button and pull the lever. The correct tightening of both jaws (photo 10) is set
by a slight clockwise rotation (clockwise rotation increases tightening, whilst anti-clockwise rotation loosen it). The tight-
ening system with clamping lever allows a uniform deformation of the two chain support jaws, so that the chain is always
positioned just at the center of the vise rotation. This is an essential requirement for perfect grinding, because the length of
the right and left teeth must be the same.
- if the clamping lever is turned clockwise, the chain is locked between the two jaws, for precise and safe grinding (photo 11)
- grind all teeth of the same type (right) before turning the vise on the opposite side, to start grinding left teeth (photo 12), without
touching the chain feed register screw (photo 8 - point 1)
At the end of grinding operations, turn off the grinder, disconnect the cable from the mains, and remove the grinder, placing it in a safe
place, away from children.
N.B. If the chain depth gauge is too high with respect to the tooth (usually after 2/3 grinding operations), lower it using a flat file (photo
13). For the height of the depth gauge, consult the chain table enclosed at the end of the handbook (column M).
N.B.
- do not use cooling fluids while grinding
- if, when you turn the switch to "1", the grinder does not start, and if when the switch is in the "0" position the grinder does
not stop, promptly disconnect the power cable from the mains
- if the wheel is banged or hit by accident during grinding, follow the instructions provided in paragraph ASSEMBLY AND
WARNINGS ABOUT THE GRINDING WHEEL
TROUBLESHOOTING
- The machine does not start:
- check that the plug is perfectly connected to the outlet
- check that the power cable of the machine is not damaged
- check that the outlet is energized
- check that no fuses have blown in the outlet
- check that the automatic circuit-breaker has not tripped.
If, after these operations, the failure to start can be attributed to the machine, have it checked by an authorized service center.
- The connection of the machine to the mains makes the automatic circuit-breaker trip:
- contact an authorized service center.
- The machine's electrical motor is overheated:
- check that the voltage indicated on the data plate meets the mains voltage
- comply the max. time (15 min.) recommended for continuous operation
- check that la wheel does not block during grinding
If the problem persists, contact and authorized service center.
- The direction of rotation of the wheel is the opposite of that indicated on the machine:
- contact an authorized service center
- The machine shows signs of anomalous vibrations:
- check that the machine is secured to the work bench
- check that the motor unit is secured to the base unit
- check that the wheel is properly installed on the relevant centering hub
If the problem persists, contact and authorized service center.
MAINTENANCE
- always disconnect the plug from the socket before carrying out any maintenance, lubrication or cleaning operations
- the grinder must be kept clean, in order to make safety instructions and plates clearly legible. Clean it using a rag or a swab.
- do not use compressed air, that is likely to bring the metal dust in positions where they cannot be reached, damaging essential com-
ponents of the grinder.
DEMOLITION
The midi jolly grinder has been fabricated with 90% recyclable materials. Therefore, if the grinder must be deactivated, do not abandon
it. Take it to your dealer who will store or dispose of it correctly.
WARRANTY
- the validity of the warranty on this product is subject to the recognition of the country of sale. To be valid, any claim must
be accompanied by a copy of the purchase documents (invoice or cash voucher). For any repairs, the machine must be sent,
carriage free, to your dealer.
- The warranty will be void if:
a) the grinder has been tampered with;
b) the grinder has not been used according to this manual;
c) non-original and/or unauthorized parts, tools, or grinding wheels have been fitted on the machine;
d) the grinder has been connected to voltage values other than the one stated on the serial number plate.
