Frequently asked questions
Question: What type of batteries can be used with the kit?
Answer: Any 12 V/ 33 Ah battery that is used for cars, boats, mo-
tor cycles, etc.
Question: Will the solar panels over-charge my battery?
Answer: The charge regulator ensures that a steady charge is
supplied to the battery and will not be over-charged.
Question: Can I extend/lengthen the battery lead?
Answer: If the lead is extended this can result in a loss of voltage
and insuf¿ cient power transferred from the solar panels to charge
the battery.
Question: How do I clean the solar panels?
Answer: Dust & dirt should ¿ rst be swept off the panel surface
using a soft brush then using a wet cloth to wipe the panel surface
to remove remaining dirt & grime. It is recommended that any bird
droppings be removed as soon as possible as if left can cause
damage to the surface.
Question: Is the solar panel kit water proof?
Answer: It is recommended that the kit is not exposed to exces-
sive water as all components apart from the solar panel are not
water proof.
Maintenance
Very little maintenance is required to keep the inverter and
charge regulator operating properly. Clean the housing periodi-
cally with a damp cloth to prevent accumulation of dust and
dirt.
The surface of the solar panel should be kept clean by periodi-
cally wiping it with a soft cloth to ensure best performance.
During long-term storage without being charged, the battery
must be completely recharged every 4-6 months in order to
preserve complete and proper performance.

Disposal
Dispose of electronic devices in an eco-friendly fashion!
Electronic devices do not belong in your household waste. Com-
pliant with European Guideline 2002/96/EG for electric and elec-
tronic devices, used electronic devices must be collected sepa-
rately and taken in for environmentally sound recycling. Options
for disposing of used devices may be obtained from your town-
ship, city or municipal government.
Incorrect disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries
can harm the environment! Batteries and rechargeable batteries
do not belong in the household waste. They can contain poison-
ous heavy metals and are subject to treatment as hazardous
wastes. Take your used batteries to a municipal collection site.
