GMC Sierra Splash Guard - Rear

Rear Installation Procedure
Note:
Do not use power tools to install splash guard fasteners
1. Remove tire.
2. Clean and degrease body panel where splash guards will be
located.
3. Remove existing screws at locations (A), (B), (C) and (D). Retain
fasteners. See figure 1.
4. Pull stone protector outboard to dislodge plastic retainer and
remove stone protector. Discard retainer. See figure 1.
5. Place supplied U-Nut to supplied bracket at location (E). Align
U-Nut hole to the hole in the bracket. See figure 2.
6. Place bracket to vehicle. Re-install retained fasteners from Step 3 at
locations (A), (B), (C) and (D). See figure 3.
7. Drill a 1/4" (6.35mm) hole at location (F). Drill through the bracket
and wheel liner. See figure 3.
8. Uninstall bracket from vehicle and place supplied U-Nut to bracket
at location (F) and then re-install bracket to vehicle by repeating
Step 5. The barrel from the u-nut should fit into the hole drilled into
the wheel liner. See figure 4 and figure 3.
9. Install supplied white retainer on splash guard at location (G). See
figure 5.
10. Align splash guard to vehicle. Shingle top of splash guard under
wheel flare and snap retainer into existing hole in vehicle at location
(H). See figure 6.
11. Install supplied M4.2x20 screw w/washer at locations (E) and (F).
See figure 6.
12. Hold splash guard firmly against the vehicle and pull splash guard
and splash guard tab rearward until there is no gap and use the
splash guard tab hole (J) as a pilot to drill a 13/64" (5.0mm) hole
through the splash guard and vehicle body side outer. See figure 7.
13. Apply GM Vehicle Care Super Lube with PTFE to drilled hole
in sheet metal and also to supplied M4.2x25 screw to help with
corrosion prevention.
14. Install coated M4.2x25 screw and supplied U-Nut at location (J).
U-nut should be used as a nut above the body side outer. See
figure 7.
15. Repeat for other side.
16. Guards can be cleaned with any commercially available cleaner.
NOTE: Max torque on M4.2 Screw is 3.0 N m
