5. Using PVC primer and cement, attach
another section of 1-1/4 in. PVC pipe
(sold separately) to the 1-1/4 in. elbow.
6. Using PVC primer and cement, attach
the other end of the PVC pipe to a
double union ball valve (sold
separately). Then attach another
section of 1-1/4 in. PVC pipe to the other
end of the valve.
The purpose of the double union ball
valve is to allow for quick and easy
replacement of pipes, and also to allow
control of the flow rate. Always test the
flow rate with the valve completely open,
then restrict the flow by closing the valve
if necessary. NEVER run the pump
against a fully closed valve.
7. For pond application:
Connect a flexible rubber hose (sold
separately) to the PVC pipe and tighten
the hose with a pipe clamp (sold
separately). Lift the handle of the pump
(A) and put it into the pond. Place and
secure the pump (A) on a solid base in
the pond. The pump (A) is ready for use.
Plug in the power cord. The pump (A) will
pump water out. Adjust the ball valve to
meet the desired water flow rate.
