CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Periodically unplug the pump, making certain
your hands are dry and you are not standing in
water. When the power is disconnected,
inspect the screen box and remove all debris,
then plug the pump back into the grounded
(GFCI) outlet.
2. Take the pump out of freezing water in the
winter. Freezing water can damage the pump
and cause water leakage into the motor
housing and an electric shorting issue.
3. To clear a pump clogged with debris, first
UNPLUG THE PUMP from electrical power.
Unscrew the double union ball valve. Take out
the pump from the pond. Then, referring to Fig.
1, unscrew the screws (1), remove the screen
(6), then remove the guide vane (4), and
remove the nut (3). Use a flathead screwdriver
(not included) to hold the shaft (2), then turn
the impeller (3) counterclockwise to release
the impeller. Remove debris from around the
shaft and on and under the impeller. Then
reassemble the impeller, nut, guide vane, and
screen.
