12.5 Type of temperature adjustment modes
The chronothermostat operates (by default) in ON/OFF TEMPERATURE DIFFERENTIAL mode with a temperature differential
(hysteresis) value preset at 0.3 °C.
Note: values adjustable from 0.2 °C to 1.2 °C (from 0.3 °F to 2.1 °F). The hysteresis value must be adjusted according to the
equipment's thermal inertia: a low value is recommended for equipment with radiators (e.g. made of cast iron) and a high
value for equipment with fan coils.
As an alternative to the Temperature Differential it is possible to control the temperature in MODULATING PROPORTIONAL
(PrOP) mode; the duration of the cycle is adjustable from 7 to 20 minutes (factory setting 10 minutes). This system allows the
required temperature to maintained more stably, increasing the user's sensation of comfort and saving on energy consumption.
A long cycle is advised for equipment with high thermal inertia (cast iron radiators, floor equipment) and a short cycle for
equipment with low thermal inertia (fan coil).
