INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Please keep this instruction sheet safely for future reference.
2. Please do not modify the product or the assembly details in any way. Modifications will affect the structural
integrity and replacement parts will be at the buyer's expense. Inappropriate use or faulty application of the
product are explicitly forbidden and absolve the manufacturer of all liability. This product needs to be mounted
by an adult before use.
3. The use of the item is allowed only under continuous supervision by an adult. The product is suitable for indi-
viduals weighing up to 100 kg. The product is not suitable for children under 36 months, due to a lack of extra
safety precautions and taking into account the limited mental capacities of toddlers. Risk of falling!
4. This product is suitable for commercial use and complies with the European Safety Norm EN1176-1:2017.
5. The application of the item as part of a play frame or any other construction will have to be such that it ex-
cludes all risks of entrapment.
6. Assemble the product in such a way that the maximum allowable fall height remains limited to 2.5 m. This is
measured from ground level to the highest point where the child can sit, climb or stand.
7. Fireman's poles that are accessed via a platform or other starting point shall have a clearance of at least 350
mm from the pole to the edge of the adjacent structure. This is to allow safe grabbing of the pole while reduc-
ing the risk of head impact on the adjacent structure. Since the user can hang on the horizontal and vertical
parts of the fireman's pole, there shall be a free space for the user with a radius of 50 cm from a height of 30
cm above the fireman's pole to the impact surface below.
8. When mounting or assembling the product attention should be given to the minimum required distance
between the product and eventual obstacles: walls, fencing,... The free space shall be free from obstacles that
interfere with the passage of a user whilst sliding down the pole e.g. tree branches, ropes, cross beams etc.
Parts of the equipment bearing or containing the user, or helping the user to keep balance, shall be permitted
within the free space, e.g. the platform.
9. Dimension of the impact area depends on the free height of fall (FIG I). The impact area shall be at least 1,5
m around the equipment, measured horizontally and shall increase for free height of fall above 1,5 m. In this
safety area no hard, angular or pointed objects should be present (FIG II). The safety surface underneath the
product must be flat, and be covered in a suitable way (eg. rubber tiles, bark, wood chips) and meet the re-
quirements of EN1176-1:2017.
10. The falling space equals the surface of the impact area with a height of 250 cm. In this safety area no hard,
angular or pointed objects should be present.
11. All pieces should be checked regularly. For replacement material and expansion of the playground equipment,
please contact the supplier. Consequently safety will be guaranteed.
12. Ensure the product is level when mounted.

INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE

The frequency of inspection and maintenance will vary with the type of equipment or materials used or other
factors (e.g. heavy use, levels of vandalism, coastal location, air pollution, age of equipment, ...).
Replacement parts should conform to KBT specifications. Check the levels of the impact attenuating surfaces
when they consist of loose filling materials.
Routine visual inspection (weekly to monthly)
- Always check that the bolts and nuts are securely fastened.
- Check the shock absorbing surface for objects that don't belong there.
- Check for missing parts.
- Check the equipment ground clearances.
Operational inspection (1 to 3 months)
- Check the stability of the construction.
- Check every part for excessive wear and replace when necessary.
Annual inspection (1 to 2 times per year)
- Check for rust and corrosion.
- Check every part for excessive wear and replace when necessary.
