2.3 Operating safety tips

• This single-disc sander should only be oper-
ated by skilled professionals who have carefully
read and understood the operating and main-
tenance instructions contained in this manual,
who are familiar with such machines and who
are not under the influence of alcohol, drugs or
medication.
• This machine should be used ONLY for its
intended purpose by personnel experienced in
using machines like it. Always use work gloves
when operating this machine.
• Always wear protective clothing when scrub-
bing, polishing or sanding floors.
• Be extremely careful to keep loose clothing,
hair and fingers away from the machine's moving
parts.
• Do not pull on the power cable. Do not allow
the machine to roll over the power cable. Do not
let the cable get trapped in doorways. Keep the
cable away from sharp edges, heat and oil.
• Do not use materials with this machine that are
flammable, poisonous or corrosive, or that pose
a health risk.
• To reduce the risk of fire, only use floor clean-
ing agents and floor wax from reputable dealers.
• When using solvents and other cleaning
agents, pay attention to the manufacturer's
warnings. Always use safety goggles and clothing
when recommended to do so.
• When the machine is not in use, store it with
care. In particular, avoid leaving it unattended
where children can reach it.
• When storing the machine, remove the driving
disc or floor brush in order to prevent damage to
the attachment fixtures.

3. Operating the Machine

3.1 Starting off

You must take the following measures before
operating the machine for the first time or after
the machine has been transported:
• Carefully unpack the machine. Dispose of un-
wanted packaging in an environmentally friendly
manner.
• Now attach the cover plate to the drive assem-
bly.
• Attach the push rod assembly to the drive
assembly using three M8×55 mounting screws
and three M8 screw nuts. Ensure that the screws
are securely tightened.
• Attach the provided power cable to the drive
assembly and the push rod assembly.
• Pull the lever underneath the grip on the
right side of the machine toward you in order to
unlock it. Pull the push rod up until it is vertical.
Once the push rod has locked in place, let go of
the lever.
Replacing the sanding disc or floor brush
• Switch the machine off and unplug it from the
power source.
• Tip the machine backwards over its wheels
until the push rod lies on the ground.
• Attach a driving disc or floor brush by setting it
against the bottom of the machine and turning it
counterclockwise.
• To replace an attachment, detach it from the
cover plate by turning it clockwise. Then attach
the new one as described above.
3.2 Operating the machine

3.2.1 Use as a sanding machine

• Before you start sanding, it is important that
you give the floor an initial clean to remove
coarse dirt.
• Attach the machine to a power supply.
• Push the power safety switches towards the
middle of the grip and pull the two start levers,
one on each side of the grip, towards you. This
will start the motor and you may begin operating
the machine.
• Press the handle downwards, tipping the
machine slightly.
• If, during operation, you push the handle down
further, the machine will move towards the left.
If you raise the handle again, the machine will
move towards the right. Hold the handle in the
middle position to keep the machine operating
in one spot.
Lowering the handle/ push rod = MOVEMENT TO
THE LEFT
Raising the handle/ push rod = MOVEMENT TO
THE RIGHT
• While operating the machine, run the power
cable over your shoulder in order to avoid acci-
dentally running over it with the machine!
• When you release the start levers below the
handle, the machine stops operating immedi-
ately.
To transport the machine when it is switched off,
pull the push rod up into a vertical position so
that it locks into place.
• Tip the machine backwards slightly until it is
sitting on its wheels. Remove the sanding pads
to protect the floor.
• Store the machine in a dry place at normal
room temperature – never lower than 0 °C.
Connecting the vacuum ring
The vacuum ring should only be used for sanding
jobs. For this reason, before connecting the vac-
uum ring, ensure that the machine's water tank,
water hose and additional weight have been
removed, and replace the cleaning brush with
a driving disc for the use of a sanding disc. It is
also recommended that you remove the rubber
ring lining on the pad covering of the single-disc
sander.
• Place the vacuum ring on the floor in front of
you so that the flat side with the hose connection
nozzles is facing you, then remove the suction
hose from the vacuum ring. Put the machine's
push rod in a vertical position and tip the ma-
chine backwards slightly, so that it is standing
only on its wheels.
• Roll the machine over the vacuum ring, care-
fully tipping the machine forwards until the front
casing has been placed into the vacuum ring
opening. If necessary, alter the position of the
machine so as to make the connection process
easier. Re-attach both ends of the suction hose
to the hose nozzles on the vacuum ring. Now
attach the output end of the suction hose to the
hose of an industrial vacuum cleaner – use the
provided adapter if necessary.
• If needed, an additional weight can also be
attached. Should you wish to attach a second
additional weight, you must first detach the hook
on the vacuum ring.
