8. Installing and Using the Vacuum Adapter
a. The vacuum adapter (Y) allows for connection
to a 1-1/4 in. diameter vacuum hose to help
keep the work area clean. Remove the battery
pack.
b. Align the hole on the upper blade guard with
the vacuum adapter.
c. Install the screw (Z) and tighten it with the
blade wrench.
d. Remove the adapter when cut without the
vacuum.
9. Installing and Using the Edge Guide
The edge guide allows you to make accurate
parallel cuts when trimming a workpiece.
a. Remove the battery pack.
WARNING
• ALWAYS remove the battery before assembling
any accessories. Failure to do so could result
in accidental starting, which can cause serious
personal injury.
b. Slide the arm of the edge guide (AA) into the
two edge-guide slots (K) at the front of the
saw base.
c. Adjust the edge guide to the desired width of
cut. Tighten the edge-guide locking knob (S).
d. Clamp and support the workpiece securely before making your cut.
e. Place the edge guide firmly against the edge of the workpiece. Doing this will give you a
true cut without pinching the blade.
f. BE SURE that the guiding edge of the workpiece is straight so you can get a straight cut.
g. ALWAYS LET THE BLADE REACH FULL SPEED, then carefully guide the saw into the
workpiece.
