KAA wrapping insert
Using a KAA wrapping insert and guide bush with a cutting edge, the end of the wire is cut
off, stripped and wrapped to the exact length in one operating cycle. During insulation-
stripping with the use of a KAA wiring insert, the conductor must not stretch unduly as a
result of the adhesive force of the insulating covering.
4. Safety guidelines
The manufacturer accepts no liability for usage other than that specified in the operating
instructions, nor for any unauthorised modifications.
These operating instructions and the warning information they contain should be read carefully
and kept in a clearly visible place adjacent to the soldering unit. Failure to adhere to warning
instructions could cause accidents and injuries or be detrimental to health.
The 14G1 wire-wrap tool complies with the EC certificate of conformity in accordance with the
basic safety standards of EC guidelines 89/336/EEC, 73/23/EEC and 89/392/EEC.
5. Accessories
The choice of accessories (wiring inserts) is dependent on the wiring data: type of wrapping,
wire diameter, wrapping post dimensions and modular dimension. The choice of special
accessories should be taken from the Tooling Manual for Solder-Free Wiring Technology.

7. Safe work
1. Keep your work place tidy.
Untidy work areas increase the risk of accidents.
2. Take environmental factors into account.
Do not expose electrical tools to rain. Do not use electrical tools in a moist or damp environment
or in the vicinity of flammable liquids and gases.

3. Protect yourself against electrical shocks.
Avoid body contact with earthed parts such as pipes, radiators, stoves, refrigerators, etc.
4. Keep tools well away from children.
Do not allow other people to touch the electric tool or the cable. Other people should not be
standing in the work area.
5. Ensure that electrical tools are alway safely stored.
Electric tools that are not being used must be stored in a dry, high place, well out of reach of
children or in a locked place.
6. Do not overload the electric tool.
Always work within the specified performance range.
7. Always use the correct electric tool.
The wire-wrap tool should only be used to produce wire-wrap connections within the specified
application range.
8. Wear suitable work clothes.
9. Never use cables for purposes for which they were not intended.
Never carry electric tools by their cable. Never pull the cable to disconnect the plug from the
mains socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
10. Avoid abnormal positions of the body.
Ensure that you hav a firm stand and that you can keep your balance at all times.
11. Maintain electric tools with the utmost care.
Replace spent wrap bits and wrap sleeves. Observe the safety instructions and warnings
when changing tools. Check the cable of the electric tool regularly and have it immediately
replaced by an authorized specialist if it is found to be damaged. Extension cables must also
be regularly inspected for damage. Handles must always be kept dry and free of oil and
grease.
12. Always disconnect the plug from the mains socket when the electric tool
is not being used and prior to maintenance work or tool changing.
