Inserting the Batteries
The Garden Protector 2 requires 4 x "D" LR20 1.5V batteries. Please ensure you use good quality batteries for optimal functioning.
To insert the batteries: first check that the switch under the optical sensor is in the "OFF" position. On the reverse side of the device, slide the cover open by
pushing it downwards, then lift it off. Insert the 4 batteries, ensuring they are the correct way round (matching the +/- symbols shown in the base of the
appliance). To close the battery cover, align the 2 arrows either side of the cover >< with the two matching arrows on the case, and slide the cover up to close it.
This device can also be powered using a mains adaptor (WKT052).
Operation and Settings
This device has an infra-red movement detector. When activated, the device emits high-frequency sounds (ultrasound) which are inaudible or barely audible to
the human ear, but highly audible to animals. This therefore disturbs the relevant animals; they then change their habits and go elsewhere. At the same time, the
light flashes on and off several times, also helping to scare off the animal. The flashing light can be switched on (ON) or off (OFF) using the switch at the bottom of
the device.
The detector works within a range of +/- 13-14 metres.
As soon as the infrared sensor detects any movement within this range, the device emits ultrasound at the selected frequency for around 7 seconds, before
returning to inactive mode. The device switches on again after 5 seconds if movement is still detected. The cycle continues in this manner.
The appropriate pest-repellent frequency ranges are shown on the cover: 1-7 = cats; 2-7 = dogs; 3-7 = foxes; 4-7 = martens; 5-7 = rabbits; 6-7 = herons.
Please note: 1 = the highest frequency (+/- 24 KHz) and 7 = the lowest frequency (+/- 15 KHz). Humans can hear up to 20 KHz. Therefore at certain settings, you
may hear a slight whistling sound.
Set-up, Positioning and Recommendations
Option A: use the L-shaped bracket to fix the device to a wall, building, fence or wooden post.
Option B: use the rotating base to fix the device to a post or tube (2.5 cm diameter).
The device emits ultrasound horizontally in whichever direction it is pointing. It should also ideally be placed at the height of the pest you wish to repel, with no
obstacles between the device and the pest (this could interfere with detection and the obstacle might block the ultrasound).
To protect a large area, or if the area to be protected is covered in dense foliage, several devices may be required.
Leave the Garden Protector 2 switched on continuously in order to keep pests away on a permanent basis. Please note: the further to the right the dial is turned,
the lower the frequency, and the larger the area of coverage, up to a maximum of 200 m².
Older dogs and cats may be less able to detect high-frequency ultrasound (species with floppy ears all the more so). In such cases, the dial should be turned
further to the right to lower the frequency. A frequency of 4, 5, 6 or even 7 may be necessary for older animals. The Garden Protector 2 works as soon as it is
switched on, however it may take up to 2 weeks before a longer-term change in pest behaviour is observed. You may also have to reposition the device to prevent
pests getting used to it.
Never put the Garden Protector 2 to your ear. Keep out of the reach of babies and children.
Battery life will depend on how often the device is activated: in high-traffic areas, battery life will be shorter than in less-frequented areas.
Be a good neighbour!
The Garden Protector 2 deals with the problem of stray animals, animals off the leash and wild animals. Avoid directing the Garden Protector 2 into neighbouring
gardens or yards, or into public places. This device is designed for use on the owner's private property only.
Certain frequencies can be audible to the human ear, particularly at lower frequencies (dial turned up to the right). In such cases, you simply need to turn the dial
further to the left to increase the frequency.
Recycling: This device must be recycled, do not dispose of it in household waste. Please take it to your local recycling centre.
PLEASE NOTE: When the device is running on batteries, eventually the flash may stop working or will switch on permanently. This usually happens when there is
insufficient battery power. Please test the device with new, good quality batteries before returning it to SAV.
The life of your "Garden Protector" can be greatly extended by using a device to protect it from the elements. This will avoid damage incurred by heavy rain or
hail. Do not cover the speaker.

7 = fouines, de 5 à 7 = lapins, de 6 à 7 = hérons.
