1 Instructions For Safe Use
The PRIORIT EBEL:VENT-EN-U circulating air device is used for extracting and cleaning the exhaust
air from safety cabinets.
Do not use in areas where the ambient air temperature exceeds 40 °C. The device ventilates the
cabinet in accordance with the specified air renewal rate, filters hydrocarbons, and indicates the
current function using two lights: RED – error / GREEN – running.
The device also includes two floating outputs for those signals. The device is designed to ventilate
cabinets as defined in EN 14470-1 and conforms to the requirements of TRGS 510. The user is
responsible for the safe operation of the system in accordance with TRGS 510, Appendix 3. The
device is RL 2014/34/EU ATEX compliant and corresponds to the marking CE EX II 3/- G Ex ic mA IIB
T4 Gc.
Personal Injury and Material Damage
Improper use may result in broken rotors, fatigue failures and fires due to arcing, which can lead to
personal injury and material damage.
Improper use is defined as any use other than or in addition to the one described in these operating
instructions. The manufacturer / supplier is not liable for any damage resulting from improper use; the
risk is borne by the user alone.
This device poses no specific risks to humans and the environment as long as it is used as intended
and with the original accessories, and as long as the instructions for installation and assembly as well
as for safe activation are adhered to.
2 Safe Installation, Start-Up, Adjustment, Assembly,
Disassembly, Maintenance
The device is delivered ready to use and install, with the exception of the control systems, which are
not included in the delivery because they require adaptation to the conditions at the installation site.
Before connecting the device to the mains supply the electrical connection specifications (voltage,
frequency) must be verified and compared with the device specifications.
The device must be installed, operated and maintained by properly trained, qualified personnel.
Purpose
The contaminant-laden air is extracted from the safety cabinet using a filter system consisting of
a particle filter and an activated charcoal filter. Hydrocarbons are retained by absorption. The device
monitors blower function and the saturation of the activated charcoal filter. Warning lights are used to
indicate the operating mode (GREEN or RED). To satisfy the requirements of TRGS 510, Appendix 3
it must be ensured that no harmful substances escape into the workspace from the safety cabinet. The
particle filter traps dust, thereby extending the service life of the activated charcoal filter.
