Camera settings and corrections are not required
Lens extensions (e.g. with extension tubes) are automatically
recognized
Filter factors are automatically taken into consideration
Variable apertures of zoom lenses are automatically
recognized
Only the light required for correct exposure is measured (TTL)
Note:
1. Depending upon the camera model in use, it wil be necessary
to make settings for the use of an external flash. Please refer to
the instruction manual of your camera in this regard.
2. Some camera models require that the built-in flash is opened.
Please refer to your camera's instruction manual for this
information.
TTL Flash Control - Shutter Speed Priority
The auto exposure program of your camera can be combined
with the TTL auto flash function. Set your camera to shutter
speed priority mode. Now the desired aperture can be set
manually. Please keep in mind that the flash range will decrease
with small apertures (such as F11 of smaller). Your camera will
automatically choose the correct flash synchronization.
With the assistance of the TTL auto flash mode best results may
be expected.
TTL Flash Control - Aperture Priority
Set your camera to aperture priority mode. Now the desired
shutter speed can be set manually. Be aware that a shorter
exposure time than the camera's x-synchronization can not be
selected (most AF cameras will not allow shorter exposure times).
The TTL auto flash mode and the aperture priority mode will
insure correct lighting of your object.
Manual Flash
When using manual flash both synchronization and aperture
must be selected on your camera manually. Do not choose a
synchronization shorter than the camera's x-synchronization.
The flash range now depends on the aperture. Please check the
information on the exposure chart at the rear of your flash.
Flash Synchronization
Synchronization time refers to the shutter speeds which will allow
flash photography. Special attention must be paid in the case of
short shutter speeds. Each camera model features a "shortest"
synchronization - the so-called x-synchronization. Please review
the instruction manual of your camera. Do not use shutter speeds
shorter than the camera´s x-synchronization for flash
