Introduction
We are glad that you decided in favour of a Haibike
model with eConnect technology. Thank you for your
trust!
Digitalisation paves new ways not only for smartpho-
nes but now also for your Haibike. With the eConnect
system, we create the technological base for a digital
eBike network. Thus, completely new, intelligent func-
tions become possible which make your Haibike even
smarter and safer.
In this brief manual you will find the first important
steps about safety, functions and handling. You can
get further important information on our websi-
te www.haibike.com/eConnect and via the Haibike
eConnect app.
Please read the following instructions ful-
ly and thoroughly and follow the included
instructions:

contact our specialised retail where you bought your
bike.
eConnect – basic functions
· Tracking and route recording

Device informations
The eConnect hub, a compact transmission unit, ser-
ves a technical basis in which central components are
integrated. A GPS transmitter for satellite-based loca-
tion determination, a GSM chip for data communica-
tion and a Bluetooth module for close-range commu-
nication, for example via sensors. A 3D acceleration
sensor detects vibrations, a 3D Gyro sensor determi-
nes the eBike's position. A backup battery which is
integrated in the eConnect hub makes it independent
of the eBike's battery and ensures a safe monitoring
mode operation for months. As soon as the eBike is
switched on, the battery automatically charges. A se-
parate charger is not necessary.
NOTE: Please note that the eConnect hub is firmly fit-
ted on the Haibike Should you have any problem with
your Haibike, please immediately contact your speci-
alised retail partner from which you bought the bike.
Please do not try to repair the eConnect hub yourself.
First steps
1. First of all, please charge the eConnect. In order to
do so, switch on the display of your eBike at least
five times and allow automatic switching off. (Dura-
tion: approx. 25min). As a result, the eConnect hub
gains a basic charge. Full charging takes approxi-
mately one hour and can take place during your first
rides with your eBike as it is automatically charged
during riding.
2. Open Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Playstore
(Android) on your smartphone.
3. Search for the eConnect app with the keywords
"Haibike eConnect" and download the app for free.
4. Open the app and sign in via the "Register now"
button. Follow the instructions in the app.
5. You will receive an eMail to the specified address. If
you do not receive an eMail, please check the spam
file of your eMail account before re-registration.
6. Confirm the link sent to you and chose a password.
7. With the specified eMail address and password you
can access the app and also the eConnect portal on
www.haibike.com/eConnect .
After a successful registration, please proceed
with the following steps:
1. Log in to the app with your account.
2. Select the menu option "Settings' and then "My
eBikes'.
3. There you will find your registered eBike with the
name "Haibike SDURO 8.0".
4. Press on the name of the eBikes in order to open
the bike's settings.
5. Now you have to possibility to change the name of
your bike and to state the date of purchase.
6. Open the menu "Manage eConnect keys' and click
on "Add new key" to allocate the provided eConnect
key to your bike. Follow the instructions in the app.
7. You have now successfully registered and added
the eConnect key. You can immediately use every
function of eConnect.
Have fun with your eBike and the equipped eConnect
during your rides.
Special information
· Please mind the road and your surroundings at any
time when riding your bike, especially when being
part of public traffic. You should only use your mobile
phone after you stopped.
· In case you receive a notification that your bike is
being stolen, please rather act defensive and call the
police instead of intervening yourself as this might
lead to dangerous situations.
· Please note that intentional misuse of the notification
function causes high costs for the service of emer-
gency personnel. For further information concerning
emergencies reported via eConnect, please read the
reaction recommendations on our www.eConnect.
com/crash website. Also discuss this issue with your
specified emergency contact persons.
· The unlimited use of eConnect functions in only pos-
sible in the following countries: Belgium, Bulgaria,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French-Guayana,
Gibraltar, Greece, the UK, Guadeloupe, Ireland, Ice-
land, Isle of Man, Italy, Channel Islands, Croatia, La
Désirade, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxem-
burg, Malta, Marie-Galante, Martinique, Mayotte, Mo-
naco, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Austria,
Poland, Portugal, Réunion, Reunion + Mayotte, Ro-
mania, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin (French part),
Saint-Barthélemy, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland,
Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary,
Vatican State, Cyprus. Outside of these countries,
the eConnect function is not available and no further
costs are involved.
· The service and the functions of the eConnect hub
are free of charge until December 2019. After this
expiry date, you have to pay for an extension via
Haibike.
· An internet connection is necessary in order to use
the app. The data which are transferred via the app
are at the expense of your mobile contract. If you use
a prepaid card, please note that the data connection
may cause additional costs. Therefore, please check
the contract terms and conditions of your mobile
phone provider.
· All data are saved on the system which is provided
with the highest safety measures. Personal data,
such as routes and locations, can only be accessed
by the user. Please also read the data protection pro-
visions concerning this topic which are shown during
the registration process.
· Do not dispose either the eConnect hub or the
eConnect key in household waste. Appropriately dis-
pose these devices in case they are broken.
