Operating Instruction for Swimming Pool Heat Pumps Heatermax 15 / 20 / 30 / 50

• The power supply must correspond to the product specifications. Do not connect the pool heat pump, if the power supply does not conform to the specified regulations!

• The power supply of the pump must be via a fault current protective switch (RCD-switch) with a rated fault current of < 30mA (pumps of class 1).

• The installation of the pool heat pump must be carried out at a distance of over 2 m away from the swimming pool.

• The power connection of the pool heat pump must be carried out at a distance of over 3.5 m away from the swimming pool.

• Should the power supply cable be damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified electrician. Until then, the pool heat pump must be taken out of operation to prevent dangers.

• Switch off the power supply before interrupting the current connections. Never work at the pump without ensuring before that the power supply has been switched off.

• The appliance may not be installed close to a heat source, combustible materials or the air duct inlet of an adjacent building.

• During installation, repair and maintenance work, it is strictly prohibited to step on pipes and hoses as these could break and the escaping refrigerant could cause serious scalding.

• When servicing the appliance, the composition and state of heat carrying fluid must be checked, as well as the absence of any refrigerant.

• During the annual unit sealing test in accordance with valid legislation, the high and low pressure switches must be checked to ensure they are securely fastened to the refrigeration circuit and that they shut off the

electrical circuit when tripped.

• Before beginning work on the refrigeration circuit, isolate the appliance and wait several minutes before removing the temperature or pressure sensors. Certain elements such as the compressor and associated

piping may attain temperatures in excess of 100°C and high pressures with the consequent risk of severe scalding.

• This appliance contains pressurized components. Only use the original spare parts and refrigerant gas R410A, as indicated in the parts list of this operating instruction and on the rating label.

• Never use oxygen or dry air for leak detection and pressure test, because of risk of fire or explosion.

Use nitrogen or the refrigerant indicated on the rating label. The test pressure for both the high and low pressure circuits must not exceed 42 bar.

• This appliance is not suitable to be operated by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they are supervised by a person

responsible for their safety or they have been instructed regarding the use of the appliance. Children must be supervised to ensure that they are not playing with the appliance.

Application

• The Heatermax swimming pool heat pump is intended for operation in combination with a pool pump and filter for the heating of swimming pool water.

• The following parameters concerning the water balance of the swimming pool have to be respected:

pH value 6.8 - <7.6

Free chlorine : < 3,0 mg/L

Total bromine : < 5.0 mg/L

Stabilizing agent (if used): < 75 mg/L

Total dissolved metals (iron, manganese, copper, zinc...) : < 0.1 mg/L

• The Heatermax swimming pool heat pump is intended for use in private households only.

Installation

Attention!

Do not pick up the unit using the outer casing, use the base to lift and move the appliance.

Caution!

This electrical appliance must be installed by a qualified technician and in compliance with local regulations. The installer is responsible for the correct installation of the device and also for ensuring compliance with

local regulations in this respect. Persons who do not satisfy these requirements must not handle the appliance so as to avoid exposure to potentially dangerous parts. An incorrect installation of the device may cause

serious damage and/or personal injuries (possibly death). The appliance must be kept out of the reach of children.

Selecting the installation site

The heater pump must be installed outdoor, with adequate open space surrounding it

(see drawing).

Installing the appliance

• install the 4 stabilizing studs (supplied),

• place onto a stable, solid (concrete) and level surface,

• protect device from risks of flooding due to condensation produced by the appliance

Note: It is possible to fix the appliance to the ground using the holes in the base of the appliance or using fixing rails (not supplied). It is also possible to fi x the appliance with brackets (not supplied).

Hydraulic connections

• Use Ø50 PVC pipe work for the connections

• Glue the pipe work connectors after the filter of the swimming pool filtration system.

• If the water flow is lower than 8m3/h, it is recommended that a by-pass system is installed

• If the water flow is higher than 8m3/h, it is mandatory to install a by-pass system

• If a water treatment system (chlorinator, salt chlorinator, etc...) is used, it must be installed after the heat pump.

The Heatermax package does include the pool heat pump unit only. The other components shown on

the above illustration, e.g. pool pump, filter and By-Pass, are necessary components for the pool water

system which are provided separately.
