Clamping the Workpiece

To ensure optimum working safety, the work-
piece must always be firmly clamped.
Do not saw workpieces that are too small to
clamp.
Vertical Clamping
(see figure J1)
– Insert the quick-action clamp 48 provided in-
to one of the holes 8 intended for this pur-
pose.
– Press the workpiece firmly against the fence
7.
– Press the quick-release button 49 and adapt
the quick-action clamp to the workpiece.
– Afterwards, turn the locking knob 50 in clock-
wise direction to clamp the workpiece.
Horizontal Clamping
(see figure J2)
– Loosen wing nut 51 and pull the quick-action
clamp apart.
– Insert the now "reduced" quick-action clamp
48 into one of the holes 8 intended for this
purpose.
– Press the workpiece firmly against the saw
table 14.
– Press the quick-release button 49 and adapt
the quick-action clamp to the workpiece.
– Afterwards, turn the locking knob 50 in clock-
wise direction to clamp the workpiece.
Loosening the Workpiece
– To release the quick-action clamp, firstly turn
the loosening knob 50 in anticlockwise direc-
tion.
– Now press on the quick-release button 49
and pull the threaded rod away from the
workpiece.

Adjusting the Cutting Angle

To ensure precise cuts, the basic adjustment of
the machine must be checked and adjusted as
necessary after intensive use (see "Checking
and Adjusting the Basic Adjustment", page 44).
¢ Always tighten the locking knob 12 firmly
before sawing. Otherwise the saw blade can
become wedged in the workpiece.
Adjusting Horizontal Mitre Angles
The horizontal mitre angle can be set in the
range from 45° (left side) to 45° (right side).
– Loosen the locking knob 12 in case it is tight-
ened.
– Fold the locking latch 52 upward until it en-
gages under the threaded rod of the locking
knob. (see figure K)
This allows the saw table to move freely.
– Turn the saw table 14 left or right by the lock-
ing knob until the angle indicator 53 indi-
cates the requested mitre angle.
– Tighten the locking knob 12 again.
For quick and precise setting of often used mi-
tre angles, detents 13 are provided on the saw
table: (see figure L)
Left
Right
15°; 22,5°;
15°; 22,5°;
30°; 45°
30°; 45°
– Loosen the locking knob 12 in case it is tight-
ened.
– Press lever 11 and turn the saw table 14 left
or right to the requested detent.
– Release the lever again. The lever must be
felt to engage in the detent.
