EASY configuration (refer to figure IV)
Activate the GSM radio element:
- At least one element of the signal column must be lit.
Attention: As soon as voltage is applied to the module, it is ready to receive for 10 minutes. After this time it switches off
again.
- During this time the status LED on the top must change from a constant light that is on for approximately 5 s to flashing
(200 ms interval) with a 1 s break.
- Dial the number of the GSM radio element on your master phone. Wait until you hear the acknowledgement signal. Then end
the call.
- You will receive a configuration text message as confirmation.
- The GSM radio element is ready for operation. A text message is send to the master phone as long as a signal is applied to
the column for at least 30 s (if operating light is on) or 60 s (if it is off).
For individual adjustments refer to the "EXPERT" configuration section.
"EXPERT" configuration
The "EXPERT" configuration allows you to configure the GSM radio element individually via text message.
Procedure
- Send a text message (refer to the example for structure and content) to the phone number of the GSM radio element.
- The text message can only be sent from the master phone.
- Voltage must be applied to the GSM radio element.
Syntax of the configuration text message
- Each configuration text message must start with "conf,gsm1 "
- Do not use semicolons.
- Blanks, full stops and commas are allowed.
- There is no distinction between upper and lower case letters.

- If you need a confirmation from the GSM radio element add a "+" without a blank at the end of the text message.
- Only the master phone will get a confirmation text message.

IMEI number. (15 characters) followed by the word "reset"
with a blank!
Example: 351266000233017 reset
You will not get a confirming text message. The GSM radio
element is in factory setting mode when it switches off auto-

counting the moment the device was switched on or when
the counter was last reset.
Resetting te text message
A text message with "STX RSMS" deletes the current
counter reading (check with pre-paid cards). You will receive
a confirmation text message if you add a "+".
Example: STX RSMS

Troubleshooting
If faults are detected during the initializing phase, these
faults are signaled via flashing sequences of the status LED
(refer to illustration under "EASY" configuration):
- LED flashes 2 x (200 ms interval), 1s break:
-> no SIM card detected
- LED flashes 3 x (200 ms interval), 1s break:
-> PIN number not set to 0000
- LED flashes 4 x (200 ms interval), 1s break:
-> Hardware fault. Switch off the GSM radio element and
clear the fault. No regular operation is possible in these
states.
The GSM radio element is OK. However, you do not receive
any message on your cell phone:
- Deactivate the identification restriction on the master
phone!
